I like Anderson in this first match up, just think he's now got the experience of playing against the big names and that will hold him in good stead and he's got his tour card as well meaning he will be playing more practicing more.  Beaton on the otherhand is on the decline for me, but that's only to be expected when you get to his age unless of course your Phil Taylor and you don't do decline.

Dean Winstanley very impressive there I think.

Could be a decent long shot to go a long way... (checking his draw now)

Decent section now Whitlock is out. Think he'll make the quarters.

No matter whether he wins or loses, how come the market didn't factor in Mervyn King's bad back?

Drifted from 1.18 to 1.28 while he hobbled onto the stage.

He has won the first set and is still a bigger price than he was prior to 15 minutes before they started!

Hopp producing the darts of his life has something to do with that. Merv still averaging 95 so back not having a significant impact on his performance. He has walked in to one though.

Any chance at all King is exaggerating his pain to get a bit of gamesmanship going? Not saying he's faking it, but the pauses and the winces could upset a young lad's rhythm.

Not averse to playing the player, historically.

I've had sciatica.

The pain I thought was a ten out ten pain before I had sciatica was actually only a two max.

Sciatica. THAT'S real pain.

Is that what this is? If so, I'm amazed he's still there. Another set is going to be brutal.

According to wikipedia he had earlier in the year.

It comes and goes for about 6 months usually, so I'm assuming it is.

One moment you feel zero pain, the next you want to top yourself it hurts so much.
