Adams would have been top 5 at his peak had he switched imo.

I might be a little big on Wade at 2/1. I did those prices in 30 seconds combined. I really don't rate Wade though like so many do. All his TV majors are when Taylor got beat without wade beating him. His averages are always pants and he is well known to be fucked up in the head. Also Wade doesn't like playing darts so he would never move to the BDO because he only plays for money. He has often said he would rather be a mechanic, like he used to be, than play darts for a living.
White at 14/1 might be a touch big as well.
Sorry. Yes. I wasn't criticising your odds. Just adding another point that hadn't been mentioned. The likes of Nicholson, Dolan, White, Pipe and so on have looked - to my eyes - to be less comfortable than others with some of the madness of the Pompandcircumstance Darts Corporation.

agreed that's exactly where i think he would have peaked in the PDC had he moved over.

It's a pity he didn't at least take up his GSOD invites in recent years to test himself.

Nicholson has to be one of the all time greats at self promoting himself to be a world beater when he is absolute dog shit at his chosen career. Year in year out he has proved he is shocking. Averages mid 80s most of the time i have seen him play.

I respect him massively for taking his stance and standing by it. He has left £100k's on the table for himself personally doing it. The other thing about the PDC is the brutality of the schedule regarding travelling etc. I don't know for sure but the BDO can't have the same demands and if he values his family life/kids (he might also have outside business interests) etc then it easy to see why he has turned his back on the chance of joining the circus. The bottom line is he 100% stands for the grass roots of darts and the system he came from. I do enjoy watching the darts at the top level without all the 'boring boring tables' bs. I found it amazing in the PDC worlds final that the fans couldnt just watch the match without all the shit. I get it at the Prem league which is an exhibition circus but the biggest darts match of the year the fans can surely show a bit of respect for the players when they are playing for £250k.

Think its the last 2 years the PDC organisers have said the crowd can do what they like now. The referee's never ask for order as they used to. I guess they may have thought that when the referees did this it came across as petty and not as fun so may detract people from wanting to go for their night out. Especially the people who have no idea about the darts.
Martin Adams would have been solid top 10 in PDC but wouldn't have won a T.V event IMO.
James Wade is the same standard he was 5-7 years ago, but unfortunately for him since then the game has gone up 5-10%.

i'm not much of a darts fan admittedly, but as a pure casual observer i find PDC almost unwatchable because of the crowd stuff, music, lights etc
a great night out for a group of friends i am sure, but it puts me off as someone who likes the sport not the razzamatazz

It was so refreshing in the Taylor v Huybrechts game at Ally Pally when the crowd shut up for the last 3 sets and actually watched the action.
Had to be one of the most exciting games I can remember for them to do it though.

I certainly prefer watching the closeness of the audience at The Lakeside compared to the vast expanse of Ally Pally, In fact I would be more likely to go to Frimley Green even though the product is of a lot lower standard, just think the atmosphere in the Ally Pally has gone too far, particually if you do not drink alcohol.

Adams is an interesting one, I'm pretty sure he is/was on the BDO board on something like a £50k salary and very close to Olly Croft so it was a bit easier for him to stay in comparison to the other top BDO players.
In terms of how he would have performed in PDC you've got to remember Taylor wasn't up against much for the best part of 10 years. Priestley was his main opposition then you are looking at the likes of Colin Llyod, Peter Manley, Alan Warriner, Rod Harrington, John Part and Wayne Mardle. Adams easily competes with those and definitely wins titles in that company.
As Arb pointed out Adams is giving Taylor 5 years and still playing to a very high standard.

.
Makes u wonder just how long Phil will actually stay at the top level. Could realistically still be there in 10 years?

The biased commentary from Tony Green is beyond tilting. The "yes yes yes" there as Adams took the 5th set was ridic.

He is the worst in the game either side of the pdc/bdo fence by a mile. His comments are bad enough but his awful smokers voice just makes him even harder to listen to.
