Old man wins bike race!
Chris Horner, today's winner & new leader. Fair play, at 41 he's entitled to look a bit weary & dishevelled.

OGE attempted today to set up Matthews, but he didn't have the legs, finishing 40 sec down, & behind the likes of Meersman & Gilbert. Tomorrow should be another attempt by the team if he's recovered ok.
Stybar didn't feature today. Meersman said pre stage today that stage 4 is more to his liking, 7/2 best price at the moment.
A stage for in play betting, who makes it in the final group over the Mirador de Ézaro. Look out for the young sprinters Markus & van Rensburg, a chance they could get back for the final.
Ratto, PP @ 100/1, a decent sprinter, who can get over the lumpy stuff, with some form in Burgos & Poland, I'd have him 20-30/1 region.

The road with about 1km to go, so narrow that positioning is vital.
Really?
Good grief.

Matthews had a creditable 3rd today. Stage 5 will be another opportunity. Meersman & EBH will no doubt be involved but also perhaps a select few of the pure sprinters have a chance.
Top dog in theory is Farrar, but he doesn't have the sharpness of a few years ago imo, but he does have the experience.
The young sprinters Markus & van Rensburg could be a possibility. Although the run in looks lumpy & tricky, so their teams will have to get them into the correct position for the last 1km. Markus, yet to win this year, but with plenty of seconds & thirds, & due a win soon. He has been biding his time at the back of the peloton so may be the fresher. Stage 6 & 7 is certainly stage for them.
Nothing stands out to me, no clear edge I can see.

Tried googling it but no joy.
Gracias

Hi Maldini
Still plenty of mountain stages to come, were only on stage 5 of 21. The final week has the major big climbs.

Matthews always looked the quickest & backed it up with a strong win yesterday. Baring accidents, today should be much of the same. OGE also have the option in using Howard.
Argos - Shimano still have the best organised sprint train, & with the urban finish comprising 90 degree bends & roundabouts, perhaps the value is opposing OGE & going with Arndt at 16/1.

Laura Meseguer @Laura_Meseguer. Michael Matthews: "My goal in #LaVuelta is to win 2 stages. Today I'll be relaxed and could be a good chance for Howard" #EurosportCycling
Bluff?

Stage 7.
Sprint!
Argos are switching around the teams lead sprinter, today they went with Sinkeldam. Tomorrow?
Still Matthews favourite imo.

Today is the World Ports Classic (Rotterdam-Antwerp).
The UCI have relaxed the rules & a couple of riders will have on board cameras for live broadcast. Hope this becomes standard for World Tour races.

Watch out for a solo attack by Cancellara, he may be be keen to show that it's not only Tony Martin who can hold off the peloton.
