Another frustrating evening on the grind, had decided to do it wearing my wonderful pokerstars flat cap which I had impulse bought drunk from the VIP shop, I mean how can that fail?
I think this sums up my recent play:
Broke my Micro Millions cherry, although not sure you can count a cash to the value of less than your total rebuys as a good result? ha ha cashed in another couple, the $3 5k I got proper deep but was never really stacked for it. The $3 2x rebuy, I finished 56th losing JJ<55 for utter stacks! gutted $5k up top and that would have been handy!
Thinks I probably managed a break even session balanced wise, $20 up on Zoom and finished off with a 2nd in a 9 man $30 hyper. The end of sessions spins do not seem to be stopping....

Off to play the SPS satellite, got to try and play day 1 thurs now, Thursday being the day before pay day, so got to try and find a win. My flatmate playing too, if he wins, I get the seat, will attempt to keep him from passing out on £2.50 Becks. Failing that stick with the Friday plan.
Will attempt to offend as many people as possible in my review to create diary traffic...unpolitically correct FTW

Last nights sat did not go well, I cannot mock my fellow players as I was worse, so no controversial posting can follow. Highlights were calling a 5x pre raise with 4 high, and fist pump 3b jamming a flush draw and paired 4, and masterfully getting there. Lowlights were unmasterfully flatting out of a 14bb stack on the button with Ducks, SHOVE DAMN YOU SHOVE. Then an inexplicable flat of a raise with 99, followed by what can only be described as butchering off 1/3rd of my stack. My dad was a butcher he would have been very proud. Finally, shoved the BB with 12BB with AK, reshove from A9 who rivered a flush, cant blame the dealer, as it was me! GG, will be forced to part with £275 of my hard earned come Friday....sigh
Not sure how to pick the words to describe this, but something I noticed yesterday did pick up a very very good reason for not using unPC language to describe poker issues or any for that matter. In the game we had a dad playing with his son, who was disabled, I was not at the table and was assuming he was not playing and was merely spectating his dad. I did notice he had cards, but the first time I saw this they were
and assumed that perhaps he was given these to "play with". I suppose it is human nature (and my bad) to make sweeping assumptions regarding the inabilities of others based on physical perceptions. Had the cards been
off maybe I would have thought differently but unlikely none the less.
However, he was playing, seemed to be very much enjoying himself (lasted longer than me) and the whole table made sure there was no issues. Cards were folded for him, the flops were confirmed verbally and apart from that the table continued as if nothing was out of the ordinary. I do wonder had he been on a table of Hoodies as opposed to "rec bowl comp dwellers" if this level of patience would have been shown as a couple of hands per hour were sacrificed. I was genuinely very moved by seeing it, although I guess seeing it as anything other than ordinary is not what is wanted, but just thought it was a particular touching siite to see someone beating adversity and being out enjoying a father/son bonding evening. I would not have dreamt anyone would have used the derogitory terms used in poker which refer to mental handicap whilst he was at the table, it just reminded me how out of place this sort of thing is.
* was not 100% sure how to articulate this and hope it is taken in the spirit meant.

Yesterday was a pokering non event, got home and regd the micro millions $1 rebuy, was cashed for 600ish for $40 for a small profit on a mini session. Tillted off two tournaments near the money, was actually beyond spew, just did not have the patience for non turbos and decided to just go fruity.
Micro Millions cashes up to $50, but Steve is going deep and Pengwinz cashing every tournament so that $10 has safely been set on fire!
Going to be tweeting tomorrow for Scottish Poker Series, dusted off my Twitter, never really used it @el_raberto if anyone fancies following
I decided not to sell for it, was not sure if post Vegas it would and I can borderline afford it. BRM FTW lol there is a £100 2 day game on the Saturday if this fails and again I will be chucking that in too! There is a thought of not drinking this weekend, will be interesting to see how that pans out, and if I can even lift cards sober! Scary times

Plan for this morning is to listen to this for 2 hours solid before heading to casino. Was up early, healthy breakfast, currently trying to download "smooth grooves" for my MP3 player! something to calm the tilt. Personal Training session booked for 930am. My friend KellyAnn is through at 11, looking at her weekend travel costs we may have to finish second to break even lol considering she is getting a taxi from Glasgow to Edinburgh not sure I will convince her to get on the number 100 bus to the Maybury ha ha
Standard this year seems a lot higher, players through from last night include Rupert Elder, Nial Farrell, Robbie Bull, Dean Lyall and a few other decent players. Today I think Boba will be back, Gordon Huntly is over and who knows who else. Not the soft reg fest the last one was! 90 players yesterday and expecting 100+ today, so should be £60k prizepool I would guess! Pretty much All in for my August poker here. A blank in this and the hundo tomorrow would mean a quiet quiet month! Sigghhhhhhhhhhh
There are updates on pokerinedinburgh.com (its a blog not forum so hope its okay to quote) and I will probably chuck some stuff on twitter @el_raberto followed by a post on here explaining how I went out running an ill conceived 4 stage bluff with 4 high on a wet board

Good luck chris, from what I've heard from boba, the standard isn't very good. Think David Blacklaw playing too, so you should be fine.

Think it was a player of Vinny's capabilities.
