Not long to go, chaps and chappesses.

I have just enough time to think of a witty introduction.

Granted, I'm not going to use that time to do that...

'Sup, peeps?

And, with those words, time's wingèd chariot hurries near and so begins the RSQ version of Countdown's letters game.

In the words of Andrew Marvell, Where my 9 o'clock crew at?

Goodly goodlington.

Let's start with one piece of housekeeping.

As discussed previously, there is going to be an objection or two floating around tonight. The prime source of these will be words you have heard and used before not being in the dictionary on which this RSQ is based.

So, here is my rule:

If you want to tell me a word is not wrong and that you were brilliant in picking it, you need to post a link to the Oxford Dictionary of English entry from the website.

Like so:

http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/farce?q=farce

The Oxfrord US English dictionary, the Oxford French dictionary, the Collins Dictionary, the George Foreman Grill Manual will not count for tuppence.

Remember the rules are:

1. You score a point for every person who chose your word
2. If you choose a word with a number of letters no one else picked, you get a -1 bonus
3. If you get one wrong, you get the most common (sheep) score plus a penalty 5 points.

Further adolessly, we begin - as if to defy convention - with Round 1.

Round 1 - PETERPAUL
Apple – scotty2hatty
Pater – david3103
Peter - kinboshi
Taper - Cf
Ultra – millidonk
Upper – Rubbish2407
Prate - nirvana
Leper – smashedagain, moonandback

Repeat – Junior Senior
Leaper – AdamM

Prelate – stato_1
Epaulet - edgascoigne

Perpetual – bobAlike, MPOWER, taximan007

Not in the dictionary – 8 points
Pepla – Geo the Sarge
Lapper - stribling
Replate - MintTrav
Upleapt – TightEnd

Great objection.

My keyboard won't accept Oxford as a real place. I have to assure it manually* that I'm not switching blues.

1 Rubbish2407
1 JuniorSenior
1 AdamM
1 stato_1

2 moonandback
3 bobAlike
3 MPOWER
3 Taximan007
8 Geo the Sarge
8 Stribling
