I was really annoyed at myself last night.

I managed to sat into the roller for a fiver, then lost the plot an hour later and 4bet bluff then 3bet shoved an AAx flop because i went into ‘why would they raise an ace on the flop’ mode. I was gutted as soon as i did it. Big mistake in a tourney i was really looking forward to playing. Really annoyed at myself because i didnt need to do it and if i would have looked at his stack i would have seen he was comitted. However, remembering i have had nearly a 1k week and it cost me a fiver to get into the tourney softened the blow. I hate making mistakes though and that one was a pretty big one.

I am determined to final table a Sky main and feel October is going to be the month. With the Double week they doing i think i am going to work hard before and maybe play them. There was a site i signed up to ages ago that had a load of articles and really helped my cash game so im signing up to that again for the MTT and Pot Limit Omaha articles.

I played Omaha for the first time about 6 months ago, i stacked someone and had no idea why, so i promptly left the table and didn’t play again until i played a friendly game with a few mates a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed it and it’s a game i want to get better at and hopefully make some money. I played v people i didn’t know a few days ago and realised i had no idea on strategy which is ok when playing friendly games but when playing v other people is obv going to become a problem. So these articles will help with getting a basic structure to my game, which if its ewt like NLH that is all i will need for the lower stakes.

Not sure how much i am going to play this week. May play tonight but then Rovers are playing tomorrow so won't be playing then and may stay in Blackburn for a day or 2. Hopefully we can string a few wins together!!

To be honest, the single best piece of writing on Omaha strategy is right here,

He is honeybadger, as in "honeybadger, that is the smartest thing I have ever read about anything ever. May I name my first born son after you?"

In all seriousness, you could do worse than spending an evening going through his posts on various games and hand analyses.

Just watched the finale of Breaking Bad after spending the last 2 days away from the majority of social media to avoid spoilers. Easily my favourite ever TV show. It will take something superb to top it in my eyes.

Fantastically written with a great cast. I was a bit worried that the final episode may let it all down but in no way did it disappoint. I will leave it at that in case people haven’t watched it yet.

For anyone late to the Breaking Bad party and haven’t watched any of them... you need to watch it, you will not be disappointed. I am insanely jealous that you get to watch it for the first time.

Record of the Day: Walter White - Horse with no name. Great song but stayed with the breaking bad theme!! i would advice anyone who hasnt watched to not look at the comments underneath. I havent seen them but there is likely to be spoilers.

So i have managed to get back to 50nl and after a good start I’m now rolled for a decent shot. I 4 tabled some 50nl other night and then last night decided to take a shot even though i had a little less than i would want for a fully comfortable shot. The gamble paid off and i finished a little over 10 buy ins up for the night and it could have been more.

Its taken me far too long to get back to a roll level for 50 which I’m disappointed with. A mixture of having to constantly withdraw the roll for expenses, a prolonged period of undisciplined play and some run bad had made it tough to build but this run good to build the roll has come right at the right time.

This is where the hard work begins. You can afford to be lazy with the work away from the table when grinding 20/30 stakes but i wanna be a winning 50NL player consistently and then move onto the higher stakes. I’m confident i can do it with hard work. As long as I keep my lazy nature at bay it’s definitely achievable.

As you can prob tell confidence is pretty high at the minute. That will no doubt change soon lol but hopefully it will continue, as well as the run good, and i can mount a decent charge for the higher stakes.

Im putting in a decent schedule of MTTs this month as well. As well as a full week of Sky mains next week i am playing 2 or 3 a week for the rest of the month and i have a few decent freerolls to play. With this spell of run good and confidence i hope the little work i have put in on my Tourney game over the last week will pay off.

Wow AJ you seem to be having scores all over the shop at the moment WP sir!

I saw a player I used to play against at nl30/40 a few years back playing a £4k pot on sky's totp he turned quads in the hand from memory, mbn,  how long before you are there!

I have a footy sweat today, 5 out of 5  so far for 8 selections. The only problem is one of my remaining teams required is spurs, does that make it dirty money? Grin

Thought of the weekend, when you enter super 6 on sky and get all the selections right make sure you are over 18 or that someone who is over 18 does it for you. Reason being when you get them all right you cant claim the £250k! How sick must the poor/stupid soul feel.

Haha, i had given up on my bets at half time but your first line after quoting the bets gave me some renewed hope until i logged in Smiley

tyty for the kind words sir! There is a lot of work and luck needed before i could even think of anywhere near TOTP!! Smiley Either that, or a night where i tilt stick my roll on one table!! Hoping it will be the former.

Cheering on the enemy!?! Suppose its a good way to not be pissed off when they win. I might need to start putting Burnley in mine to help me not be gutted everytime they win. Something they have been doing a lot recently

Huh? Has a young chap won the super 6?? You would be absolutely devastated! Remember hearing about some poor chap who used to put the same numbers on lottery every week. His numbers came up, but he had lost the ticket! 3 mill i think it cost him.

Record of the day: The Police - Message In A Bottle

Normally, if i haven’t updated for a while you can be pretty sure I’m not having the best time at the virtual felt. Well this time it’s because I’ve been pretty busy both with poker and away from poker.

I’ve had a pretty incredible few weeks poker wise. Everything seems to have come at once. Taking a shot at 50nl, decent play a large % of the time and some serious run good has made the week or so thoroughly enjoyable.

It’s been unreal at times.

I have only had 2 very small losing sessions since I started the profit challenge around the 23rd of September which has helped me quadruple my roll in that time. I set a 500 quid mark for the challenge, well I’ve crushed that 4 or 5 times over. It’s a term I try not to use often but it really has been a sick run. If this was this time last year I would be taking shots at 100nl by now. And I probably should be...play the rush and all that.

It all started after a reg decided to donate a few stacks to me then spend the next 30 minutes crying in the chat box about it. He went onto laugh at the fact i had been grinding 20/30 for months and that obv meant i was a poor player. Little did he know he had just funded my next shot at 50nl and helped with the results that followed it. That was quite satisfying.

It’s not all been rosy though, i have been playing all the main events on Sky all week and only cashed in one. Its prob been a bad choice to play the mains with the way i have been running at cash (although i do feel the distraction from cash may have actually helped a lot aswell) but it is something I’ve wanted to do for a while and with it being double guarantee week and a mate taking 50% of the weeks action it was the perfect time to take a shot and win some MTTs. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet but i still have the Primo on Sunday for the big score.

I certainly hope the run good continues. I’ve never had a run like this good before and i think the roll has just overtook my previous highest total. If not, it’s very close. I managed to spew it away once so hopefully i have learned from that mistake. I am very comfortably rolled for 50nl now and i hope i don’t have to move back down at any point in the future.

NEXT STOP...100NL

Second record of the day: Rui De Silva - Touch Me. Great dance record.

I really must log onto blonde more often, this seems like ages ago now, my accumulator went belly up with both spurs and arsenal letting me down. With regards to the super 6 yes, that weekend an under age entrant predicted all 6 scores correctly. It reminds me of this scene from OFAH when Rodney won a spanish lottery .....

Loool great clip.

Only fools and Horses has to be my fav comedy. Far superior to most. I could fill the thread with classic moments.

As it’s a poker thread i have to put the slow roll on. Quality!

Regarding the underage winner, i don't know why you would bother putting it on. You are setting yourself up for one hell of a bad day if you win it and too young for the money.
