£30 megasats
«

So I played the megasat the other night for the DTD 300 this weekend, it has 50 seats to give for the main event. Anyway it has 175 runners or thereabouts and it's down to the last 60 players. I get KK UTG and min raise to 16000, as the binds are 4-8000 I have less than 10BB at around 60000 so I want a caller but unfortunately don't get one so pick up the pot with the antes around 15000. This is the thing though, the next hand I get AK, I also raise 16000 then this other player goes AI for his life with 80000. Should you call? Or try and last the remaining time out to get the seat? I felt though if I called and won it would gurantee the seat. Responses please and I'll let you know the outcome of the hand

Fold, seems like you are in the middle of the pack stack wise.

I would personally Jam both hands and you would probably have 90k and a seat pretty much locked up as played fold the second hand.
I assume you lost the second hand to AQ/J or 88 hence the thread?

i would fold with your stack, how many players were below you when it was 60 players?
i watched it carefully last night online and saw some strong hands passed, when you dont really have to play theres no need, of course there is a small danger of all short stacks doubling up and then before you know it your short, but in general you should play super tight and observe other tables for blind hits etc etc

sounds like a clear fold, calling would be ICM suicide.
without seeing your exact stack size and average chipstack, its hard to say for defnite, but sounds like you have like around a 85% chance of getting a seat at the moment.
Even if you double your stack with this all in, this chance of gaining the seat may only grow to 95%, so in essence your risking 85% to gain 10%, so you need to be a 8.5-1 favourite in the all in situation (pretty much impossible with AK pre). Therefore its a fold.
Would be better to open jam IMO

It's a satty, very different poker.
I think people are going to jam with premiums for no sweats and build a stack.
Did you get a seat?

Min raising either hand is terrible. Shove or fold at that stage.
Given you were UTG last hand, you can't min raise first with AK anyway.

Whilst everything said here is true, this post is very harsh for someone new to the boards. (S)He originally posted in The Rail!
We should jam both hands. We don't want a customer with KK. We want everyone to fold so we can look at maintaining our equity. This is different to a normal tournament because in a satellite if I have 100bb and you have 5bb we get the same prize. So the early game is about chipping up like normal, but the late game is about putting your tournament life on the line as little as possible. God i feel oldschool, i mean tournament life. Jeez.

sweetman does kinda put the odds there, something im never good at. but its a fold.
i was told before even if you have aces, fold in that spot and if i was dealt them i would especially online. but this is just a opinion
i saw some crazy unnecessary shoves last night too

KK shove pre. Your not going to get a caller.
AK a bit tighter, but again would shove pre
Raise folding to leave yourself a short stack in this sat is suicide...

Shove KK, as others have said it's about staying alive at this stage of a satellite and you're happy picking up the blinds and antes - but obviously not in a bad shape if you're called.
AK is worth shoving if you're so short that you're not going to be able to fold to a seat. We need more information here. You say there are 60 players left, what position are you in? If you're in 30th (for example), then it's most probably a fold, if you're closer to 40-45th it gets very close.

Dont min raise any hand at this point with your stack i'm happy shoving both hands and picking up the blinds an Antes.. With 60 players left and at 4000/8000 you probably got few more levels yet to go..
And if ya get called just HOLD

sounds like you should shove the KK and open fold the AK.
I agree with others that minraising either hand is bad. Shove or fold, mostly fold. Sounds like you had a seat more or less in the bag, if so, open folding KK could be correct
