Bounty Hunter - Rule Check

Bounty hunter, bounty chip is random piece of grey clay, not marked bounty or all in.
Player A bets 500 on river player B throws bounty chip into middle instead of green 500. He has plenty chips (not sure this is relevant or not)
Letter of the law is this an all in?
I thought not as the bounty is not defined as an "all in" chip regardless of its popular reference as such.
Also is asking for a ruling on the douche side?
NB I am not player A or B, just curious

Every bounty comp i have played, the bounty chip does not mean all in. But i guess rules can vary from comp to comp.
The best way to act is to stop don't turn any cards over and get a ruling. if its deemed a call then fine if its deemed an all in then fine. As long as nobody turns over any cards there's no problem really.

Bounty chip isn't anything - he may as well have thrown a fag packet on the table.

Every time I have played one the bounty chip is just used at end to cash in.
Doesn't mean that isn't the rule everywhere - call the floor

It either means all in or doesnt mean anything so really they should have all options open but I guess it could be used as a bit of an angle and maybe they have to be held to a raise

Why do people make rules that are only useful to take advantage of ignorant novices and ensure that their introductory pokerr experience is as miserable as possible?

The rules are the rules because they were always the rules and they are always our god dam rules.

It is angled as a beginners competition allegedly, I assumed it should not be an "all in" unless they say expressly at the start.
The player in question, instantly said he meant call, there was no angle shot at all, player B asked if that counts as an All In and if he could hold him to it, as he had a fairly nutted hand. In a beginners competition seemed a bit dirty, same player asked me if something else could be held as an all in, which again was even more tenuous, seemed determined to find an ugly spot all night.
I got a ruling as dealer and was held as a call.
