If you need an example of a horse proving it runs for the whip, that was it.

Just a pity he didnt start a yard or two sooner.

Being beaten a neck after 3.6miles, hurt.

Another crossbar, but more profits.

Probably worth taking the last of the 12-1 on Global Power in the Warwick Chase tomorrow!

First day of Chelmsford(Great Leighs)

It was a lovely place with a superb track when it was last open. Im not a great lover of AW racing, but see the benefits etc. I hope it is successful this time round.

Best test the water though.

Doctor Parkes, can hopefully land that bet I went for in 2014, before he was pulled out. Ran a nice race at Kempton last time, making up lots of late ground. Handicapped to win on old form, but up slightly in class..

Hopeful! 2.20 @ Chelmsford Dr Parkes ew General 11/2

I'd probably prefer the 12/1 NRNB, because it's no guarantee he even turns up.

Would love to see the horse win it again, though!

Possible that we might be seeing Big Bucks II at Cheltenham, too...

If you could guarantee soft ground I'd be all over 14/1.

Soft ground is the key, isn't it.

In Ireland, its almost looked like a script, with Jeski saying "carry on mate, I'll run you close, but we both know I'm after the big one"

He was beaten fair and square by New One, who got hampered last year.

Faugheen just looks like second coming.

Behind them there is not much bar The Fly, but on soft ground all change.

Even at 10 he still went off 11/4 f.

Won't Claisse have his watering cans out, to make sure it's no better than 'good to soft' on opening day?

Big mention for Vivant Poeme in the 16;10 at Wincanton this afternoon.

No the greatest of prices at 7/2, but a colleague has a share in one in the yard, and word is they expect a lot better from this one today. Back to 2 miles and a positive ride and they are expected to be at the bookies satchel by 415 collecting. Good luck if you have a nibble.

3/1 PP money back if backed through PP messenger app and it finishs 2nd to the fav. Its not the best offer but its an offer in a race with 3 shorter priced horses.

Up to what stake on the PP offer? Bit confused about the 3 shorter price runners, Only the 5/4 fav ahead of it in the book.??

£50.

This race is set up so you have one Fav 5/4 then two shorted priced runners including your horse. Then its 15/1 Bar.

This means that (just using figures and ignoring the specific horses). If your horse finishs 2nd it is likely the fav will win. (I think this will happen about 60% of the time.)

I dont have time to do the full maths but it is an OK race for this bet.

If you had say an 8 horse race with one 10/11 shot and one 2/1 shot and the rest were say 100/1 shots this would be a good race for the offer (but they probably would offer it).
