Having donated to the Kickstarter project, I'm eagerly awaiting the early access to Elite: Dangerous next year.
Time will tell whether or not it lives upto the original, which was so far ahead of it's time that it redefined the entire gaming industry.
It will either be awesome, or a total failure. There's no middle ground with this one!
I was f5'ing the kstarter page the second it went up. gogogogooooo

WTF, where is all the track and field talk? Socks off, boom ready to rub those buttons. I think I still have all the track and fields from PS1 to 3, used to have sick battles. Swimming and javelin were my events. Still got war wounds from all the blisters. This was my fav era of the game:

Never folding... Bros just coming at us. We have a pair, if we're beat, we can always flop a set.

Probably the best game ever made for just how intricate it is. Bit morally wrong to force us to torture someone in a mission though. And the public execution of a Steve Jobs like person at an iFruit keynote presentation is messed up too.

I agree on the intracacies of the game, absolutely amazing just how big the map is and how much detail is in there. I'm only about 50% of the way through the story so far though so no spoilers For me though, the keynote assassination and the the torture part didn't seem as bad as the Call of Duty mission in the Russian airport. And the end of the day though, it is just a game and I don't really mind as long as it's in context.
