Getting a new boiler installed this week. Here is part of my old boiler, estimated scrap value £5.
It's outside my house now, I get up about 6:30AM, who reckons it will be gone courtesy of the scap metal chappies by the time I wake up?

If you lived near me, I'd set the line at when you close the front door behind you.

Went.
Was there when I got up, but gone when I returned from a dog walk.

I hope you are planning on gathering your own firewood Dave ?
In which case you'll definitely want an axe, a log splitter, or if you are feeling lazy, a chainsaw.
It's a great way to take out any frustrations you may have with the world whilst ensuring your house will stay toasty warm in the winter.
Oh, and sounds like you should be building yourself a log store

A special friend gave me a gift of these recently, in time for the winter.
You know, old people, bad circulation, cold plates, da de da. You just pop the slippers in the microwave for a minute, job done, heated slippers.
I don't use them, obv. Hardly ever.

Way ahead of you on the log store and gathering firewood. I've already cleared out a shed, put some old carpet down to keep it dry, and now bringing back big sticks on dog walks.
Most of that wood wont be usable for a year, but given the nature of her job, the missus has made some contacts that can hopefully get us some cheaps bags of it for this winter. At least I think thats what she meant when she said some guy offered to give her wood at work.

But it knocks the alternatives out of the park.

Someone from a recruitment company contacted me to ask if I was available for a job with one of the biggest poker companies in the world. They said 'they really liked me' but wanted me to send a CV anyway.
I mentioned I dont want a new job, nor do I have a CV (Havent needed one for about eight years), but perhaps they could tell me who the company was so neither of us wasted their time.
And......no reply.
Cant have been anyone actually big because I'm pretty certain they would have contacted me direct. Cant have actually liked me as suggested because they probably wouldnt have asked for a CV. The fact that they wouldnt tell me who it was suggests they just saw a job advert, picked me at random, and tried to get me to apply to a job I didnt want and get the referral ££ if I got it.
Always been a bit uneasy with recruitment consultants. Last year I read both James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne's biographies and neither painted them in positive lights (Caan owned one, Bannatyne hated them). My missus has had to deal with lots of them and many of them seem like real chancers.
(Im sure there are good ones too)
