WTF is this place? Felt fine after busting the 6-max - realized later that I'd made a mistake on my bustout hand but nonetheless felt ok. Have not left my hotel room since I got back. There's just a sense of despondency that this place can give you... I'm still up on the trip but I feel.... so very isolated.

Fun hands of the day:

$10k pot with turned 2nd nut flush. I raised pre with AQ75ds, flop A24 with A4 diamonds, I bet and get 1 caller, turn makes the flush and he leads out pot, I call, river blank and he bets pot again, I call and he has bare K blocker.

$5.7k pot AIPF with AAQ3ds < KKQTss. Out of the 30-something times I've seen AA go up against KK all-in pre it has won literally no times.

Won a $5k pot yesterday perhaps spewing  a little. Tight guy raises, I call from the SB with KK98ss, straddle calls. Flop 362r, I check, straddler pots and first raiser calls, I decide I could easily have the best hand vs straddler and have the tight guy fold hands that beat me if I overcall, which could look strong. Turn a K, I check, straddler pots again and first raiser calls all-in. Huh. Maybe I do need to hit. I call, river fills a flush and goes check-check, my hand is best as they both have sets.

Hahahaha. Wow. Timing was perfect. Went to 'teddys' (the roosevelt hotel, in Hollywood) and 'partied' 'with' Paris Hilton. More truthfully, she was at the same place as me. No pics unfortunately, didn't even see her!

Met up with a schoolfriend and some of his friends and went hard at it yesterday as well. Started with bushmills by the pool at about 2 or 3. Don't really remember how it ended.

Today I've been hiking. Going back in a few hours. Wow, what a weekend.

Back yesterday. Wanted to play the $1k PLO @ venetian but I was pretty tired after driving back from LA on relatively little sleep.

Played the $1k NLHE @ venetian today, no good. Starting stacks 15k, was down to 3k and then went on a crazy rush to about 24k @ 150/300/25 before getting it all-in pre AK vs AA. Had a very active image, in the last round I'd 3b T6o and had it go to SD, and 4b and 5b once each and had them get through, so I felt relatively comfortable getting it in, oh well.

Gonna hit the gym after 3 days off, make some dinner then go grind somewhere.

Why am I so splashy when I play NLHE? Surely if I'm going to be splashy in any game it should be the one I'm best at, yet I seem to take every spot when I sit down for this two card game.

Had a 'big one' for the 4th yesterday so took a while to recover. Gonna do some more socialising, gymming and tanning next couple of days before I hit up the main.
