Thread needs a weekly placeholder for the latest Watford manager appointment.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29518405 Former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic has replaced Billy McKinlay as Watford boss, only eight days after the Scot was put in charge.

All a bit embarrassing on the Watford front. Seems a shabby way to treat McKinley. New bloke's first 3 games are Sheff Wed away, Forest at home, Middlesboro away. What happens if he has 1 point after that week!!

To be fair it's pretty embarrassing if you can't beat Brighton.

Ant is it still all doom and gloom or have you accepted that Bloom knows more about football than any of us ever will?
Can have 20's now if you want?
Did any smart punters take this?

Watford have signed Layon on a permanent instead of a loan on a 5 year contract. Cost £4 million Euro apparently. Looking forward to seeing him play as we finally have a true wing back for our 3-5-2

It's been an interesting one. I think he was assured of a starting berth with the plan to play 4-3-3. For whatever reason we switched back to 3-5-2 and he didn't really have the defensive game for a wing back, and we have so many strikers to pick from, so he's been stuck out of the team. He's come across as a "bad apple" if press rumours were to be believed. When he scored at Rotherham he ran over to Sannino and shouted something along the lines of "f***ing d***head" (I was there and have never seen a player more angry after opening the scoring!) Sannino resigned a few games after amid rumours of dressing room unrest.
I haven't been convinced by Jokanovic so far but he seems very clear on the players he wants rid of (Dyer and McGugan). These are the two players who were rumoured to be in the middle of the unrest in the Sannino era. The problem with this is that we have tinned two home grown players, so we are desperately short in that department.
All rumours though of course, although I think the main problem is we don't play a formation to use Dyer effectively.

I think Wednesday fans would take McGugan if we could afford him. He did well on loan for us.
Trouble is, we still have a very tight budget compared to most clubs and he will be on good money with you especially as I think he went to you on a free.
I think he'll sign for another Championship club who can afford him, he aint going to take a pay cut to come to us.
We have signed Lewis Baker on a youth loan from Chelsea who is tipped by some to be a future England player. Hoping he will fit in quickly.

I've always liked mcboo. Not sure why he has fallen so out of favour.

Only one game, but Layun looked a bit special on Saturday playing in midfield!
Blackpool at home next week should be a win which will set up away to Bournemouth on TV on the following Friday.

Wednesday sold to a Thai family that own John West tuna.
Sounds like the real deal for us this time, Mandaric seems to have found a buyer with some serious dosh.
Hopefully we will be able to compete for the first time in 15 years plus.
Interesting times ahead whatever happens.
