Ripped them apart when we have A LOT of players missing/unfit.

Fancy reading to go down.

One of the worst games I've seen in a while. Both teams destined for midtable IMO. Ulloa out for three games will be a big miss.

I've said it a million times. LuaLua is an impact player not a starter. He was dead near the end, if he had come on for Buckley instead of vice versa he could have torn that defence apart.

Reading look shocking, sure we should have done more but have a lot of injuries and only Ulloa fit up front (although Barnes looked like he might be ok now)

If we had lost anyone else on the field but ulloa it would have been a 2 goal win imo

If ulloa gets injured this season we don't have a chance at all.....

Turns out Southampton/West Ham was even worse. Not the greatest Sunday ever.

Went to the Watford v Charlton game - wasn't great to be honest.  Draw was fair result.  It seems Watford have a lot of lightweight players.  Even the midfield enforcer Iriney (who had a great game) is all flicks and one touch passes when he gets the chance.

Watford went for an ambitious 3-4-3 formation, with Forestieri, Fabbrini and Deeney up front.  It seems likely that Forestieri and Fabbrini can't play in the same team.  They are thrilling to watch, but often end up on head down dribbles down blind alleys and having both of them in the same side is too much, but it was worth trying.  We were much stronger when Acuna came on up front as he holds the ball up, shows lovely touches and takes the pressure off Deeney.

Anya also made a big difference when he came on after being rested after his Scotland exertions.  Watford fielded "The Beast of Algiers" at centre back - Algerian international Assaid Belkalem.  Looks quick and strong, but needs time to get used to the English game.  On the negative side, he gave away the penalty with a mindless lunge and was booked for body-checking someone with his face.

All in all, it felt like we had too many offensive players in the same team and we need a rethink on formation.  Doncaster at home Tuesday, Barnsley away Saturday.  We need 4 or 6 points to be back on track.

Another predictably awful performance from Sheffield Wedneday on Saturday.

We were gifted a goal in the first half and then Yeovil have a centre half sent off.

In the second half Yeovil simply outplayed us with their ten men and to be honest deserved to win. Got to give them a lot of credit.

Wednesday were awful. Jones tactics are simply baffling, his negativity is clearly affecting the players and you can see the little self belief they had draining away. He looks like he's lost them to me.

Unless we recruit a midfielder and centre forward quickly, I would lay Wednesday especially at home every game at the moment. Away from home they might feel less pressure and nick the odd 1-0 win.

Very worrying.

I'm hearing that Watford have missed out on Chalobah as they wouldn't pay what Chelsea were demanding and he is having a medical at Forest at the moment.

Interesting discussion with Mr P Parker before the QPR v Brighton bore draw.

We came to the conclusion the Championship (or second tier of English football - whatever it's been called) has never been stronger than it is today.

The reason?

There are so many foreign players in the Premier League nowadays, players who be regular starters with mid table clubs in the top division just cannot get a look in and have to drop down a rung to get regular football.

Makes sense doesn't it?

Aaron Wilbraham is from Knutsford, Cheshire?

Should have picked Stephen Dobbie as he is currently in the championship with Wilbraham coming soon, darn. Missed a good oppo there.

Yeh you seem to be right. But I think what is clear is that the Chmapionship this season is not going to be as crazy as last. Imo anyway.

Chalobah was the best player I saw in the Championship last year at age 18. A cracking signing for Forest that.

I wrote about this in Tft about 2000 pages ago

I think it is particularly prevalent in strikers

Every time a Norwich sign a Van Wolfswinkel, or Swansea a Bony that means a domestic striker who a decade ago might have been in a bottom half of the top division side is now in the Championship

So you have a good set of Championship strikers, and a less talented set of Championship defenders (generalising) and this is why over the last three years goals per game in the Championship has risen, incidences of both teams to score has risen
