Just read the start of Rexas's blog there, was interesting hearing peoples views on poker as gambling.

I shudder when I think of the sort of guy I was back then :p Just coming off the back of a big bink, thought I was the absolute nuts. Had to lose the lot before I could start to improve :p

Re: Poker as Gambling, bit of an interesting one, we'll just call it gambling with an edge:)

Hopefully can get some thin brags in here before Christmas time!

Speaking of which, have my gym membership and have been really lazy with it the last few months, will need to get back into it against, gym/ swim atleast 3 times a week, pretty sure I always play better after some exercise!

Total Profit for Sep, £1006.99, of which I have withdrawn £450. Also due to get £126.70 rake back in October from 6335 poker points. 22.67% of way to target!

I'm still playing 20nl.

Have played some 50nl but lol volume.

I'm just a recreational player, still enjoy it which is the important thing.

Although playing lot's of cash repeatedly can be a grind.

Pros of 20nl are;

Great liquidity, quite easy to beat.

Biggest negative is the rake as a % of the overall pot.

Pros of playing 50nl

Less rake as a %.

Negatives, Not as great liquidity, player pool to a high % is regs and a lot of the regs are really tight.

These types of games aren't as much fun and there is a lot less action.

Are you the fella from Motherwell on all my tables? Thoghts on other "regs" in the games? Personally think Th1nkerman is the most solid.

EDIT: Just read page 2 you're LARSON7, please avoid my left. Cheers.

He's a very good player, really aggro.

One of the best regs that plays that level.

Hey Elke,

Welcome to blonde, it's a great site!

Start of September was pretty poor, it's one of my worst runs at poker that I've ever experienced, had a fair few coolers mixed in with some bad play.

Friday and Saturday were awesome which pretty much takes care of the hole I was in.

So strange with poker when you are winning you are invincible and when you are losing you just question everything lol

I've withdrawn over 50% of my bankroll from Sky to play some live cash.

I have 7 buy in's for 200nl.

First time I played was last weekend. Was totally card dead, but ended up eeking out a profit of £60 odd pound.

It was a bit frustrating in as much as with a good run of cards I would of totally cleaned up.

5 players at the tables were playing with <50 bb stacks and this one person kept donating their £40 and insta rebought lol

7 Buy in's isn't a massive amount, but for the type of game I was in last week think it's plenty.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't play a massive amount of MTT's but this was a hand approaching the bubble from a game earlier on today, UTG who 3xes has been opening up all sort of raggy aces and junk and it's a BH, suppose it's just a cooler, really don't think I can get away from this one.

We are in the SB with pocket 10s, blinds are 150/300, we have 13k, BB has 14k, UTG +1 has 5.5k

UTG+1 3xes to 900, folds to us, we jam, SB calls, UTG_+1 folds.

He had aces.

lol maybe not a cooler then.

Didn't expect UTG to ever fold and expected to be in great shape against him.

Prob should 3 bet to about 2.1k, only thing is cause it's a BH BB could possibly come along and a lot of the time UTG will just call - despite his stack size and have < a pot sized bet on the flop.

In saying all that, if I 3 bet to 2-2.1k can probably get away from it.

Sing when you are winning

Today's been amazing, best day of the month so far, almost got enough for 50% of the buy in for GPT Edinburgh.

Included in that was £60 from 50nl (euros) on Unibet. The "regs" were tight bad lol

Offering 50% for the event at no mark up, details can be found here:

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=64398.0

Few hands from tonight had the most amazing player on the table.

All hands are from a 200bb table, we've already double up.

Hand 1;

    (£92 Starting Stack) UTG+1 raise to 60p.

Button (Maniac sitting with £32ish ) Calls. SB Calls (£30ish). BB Folds, 3 players to the flop (£2).

Flop;
    two hearts

We bet £1.50, Maniac Min Clicks it Back, SB Calls, We Called (£11). I really hate this call against this player, think I should defo be raising up here.

Turn  , SB Checks, we lead for £5.50, Maniac Min Clicks it back, SB folds, We lol min raise, they jam and show

    (Total pot £68.42)

Hand 2, this was so annoying! I was defo calling the maniac - they were potting any pair - then guy calls behind.

Button min raises we are in the SB, we 3 bet to £2.50, maniac calls, button calls, I should have went bigger.

Flop;

I checked, Maniac pots it £7.80, Button Calls I folded:(

Turn

Both players got it in on Turn, Maniac had j 3 o/s, button  had KJ

Hand 3;

We have Ace 10 o/s BB

Maniac Limps, other player limps, we make it £1.80

Maniac back raises to £6.10 total. (they have £33 at the start of the hand) We call.

Flop is 10 3 5,

We check and they jam we snap and they have 88, turn and river are bricks.

Charming buddy.

Bit surprised at the attitude just because you lost a pot.
