The next confrontation did not take long

Tony on the button with 66 and Ben in the blind with AK got it all in pre

The board ran out K-8-J-5-8

Which meant that Ben Mayhew became the UKIPT Six Max Champion for over £72,800

As the river card was placed on the board Ben put his hands over his eyes and fell backwards onto the floor, on which he stayed for some time almost unable to comprehend that he had won

One sensed that this was a very important victory for him

When he got to his feet, red faced and misty eyed, Tony Salmon was waiting for him to shake hands and congratulate him

Ben's rail of 5-6, presumably from Bury St Edmunds way, roared their approval as applause rang out across the room

Ben was reluctant to speak to the bloggers just after he won. He was in tears

Given a bit of space first, he spoke to the Stars reps and told them that he had lost his Dad in March, and he was getting overcome with emotion heads up and immediately afterwards.

Every time he had an all in on the final he was imagining that he would win the hand for his Dad.

His brother is here watching him, I gather, too

As was reported yesterday and today Ben had 4 or 5 situations when he needed to win from way behind when the money went in and did so on each occasion, and eventually scooped the lot.

Well done.

Now that is class! Not sure what happened before, although, i would say an honest mistake after 4 days of mental poker was pounced upon by some. Respect Tony Salmon!

Massive thanks to Mr T End!!!! These updates are on another level!
