My Pinehurst darts are Dufner Shwartzel and Kaymer.  Might put a touch on Rory as well, but he is a bit short.

Looking at the course it seems to favour a left to right hitter, but difficult to know for sure.  Bubba's go to shot seems to be a big right to left and Phil seems to like that as well.

Good luck With Kaymer mate.

Kaymer's weighed-in I reckon, might recomment TfT has a £10k to £8k on while the old fella's gone walkabout.

Top picking Davie, it seems so obvious now.

Irish open up next, I'm thinking of laying Rory at 6.4 with the intention of backing him after the first or second round, my reasoning is that I think he has been finishing comps stronger than starting. Someone tell me I'm being an idiot?

It's not a strategy that I would consider as the downside seems far greater and more likely than the upside, however I do have a penchant for longshots.

Omm, the thing I don't like about these back/lay lay/back bets is that you have to be very precise about what you want to achieve with them.  Do you have a price in mind to back? Are you going to cut your losses if he has an ok first round?

Also I'm not sure that there is any evidence that his first rounds are poor - it seems to be his second round that is more likely to be poor on recent performance (but that might just be variance).

There were some stats doing the rounds a few weeks ago that Rory had the best frl record of anyone either side of the continent.

I'm fairly keen on Danny Willett's chances this week at Fota Island, also like Oosthuizen stateside and thrown a couple of darts at LizzieS and Pressell at a huge price in the ladies' US Open which will have the added interest of being played on the same course as the men's last week. I've resisted the urge to bet any trebles.

GL peeps.

Thanks for the tip, Karabiner. Thought we were incredibly unlucky not to bink the lot, but e/w pays a profit all the same. It would have been nice to have the sweat of an e/w double tonight. Oh well. Get well soon, Oosty.

Nice tekkers, Sir.

Bit disappointed really, Danny could't hit a fairway all day and Fota Island is a totally different proposition playing approach shots from the rough.
