Not sure there's ever a Kooch time of year!

I'm on holiday in Perth so haven't had a chance to review in depth this week - Sam who used to run Golf Punters Guide is previewing for us this week instead. Had a quick look at the odds though and am sorely tempted by Rory. Only a matter of time before the putting kinks are ironed out. Seems a fair price.

Tell you what, Ive really enjoyed the WGC Matchplay this week. The course is fantastic. Don't think anyone would have been close to -20 for the week over a 72 hole format. Fantastically designed course which isnt just about power and landing wedges 8 foot past the hole and spinning them back. The greens arn't huge, but with every different pin position it creates a whole new dynamic to the hole.

Hopefully current course designers have a look at this beaut, and realise that a course doesn't have to be long, or with 4 inches of bermuda rough around each green to be a true test of golf.

Jason Day is some putter like.

I don't usually watch much Golf, outside the majors.

Had a £20 free bet from Cheltenham, so chucked it on Rory, and have been following it all weekend.

Day really does grind hard, doesn't he. Never gives anything away, and just super solid in and around the greens.

Obv not the result I wanted, but the tourney has been very enjoyable to watch.

Okay I know it's a little late but let's have an aftertimers benefit evening as this thread seemed close to expiring.

Who are we all on this week?

Obviously this is a minor chirp as none of mine have totally blown out yet although typing this may well have an adverse effect.

Day, Stenson, Horschel and Na @ prices varying between 12/1 and 270/1 are my four musketeers.

Had a couple quid on Fowler, and a tenner freebie I chucked on Garcia.

Garcia, Fowler, willet, Horschell, matsuyama all e/w, dustbin to win.

Also got a 4 fold on Garcia, Fowler, Horschell and matsuyama to win their groups in the 1st round. £124 back off about 4 quid if it comes in. 2legs in so far, and Horschell 5 shots clear in his, Garcia 2 shots up in his.

Oh how I love being Garcia'd. Why do I let him do it to me?

I've gone JB Holmes (which was my NAP and tipped in TFT - great shout...), Horschel, Matsuyama, Kaymer, Garcia and Chappell.

A few sweats looming. I watched a fair bit of it last night and the course really does look tough if you don't keep it on the fairway. The heat didn't look to be too much fun either, everyone was dripping.

Could do with Mad Kevin doing a Molinari and birdieing the last six holes.

That is nuts - he only picked up one shot in the last six holes, 11 under for the day standing on the 13th tee.

Was -11 through 12 then parred a par 5. Typical!

Strangely, I wrote out my predicted Ryder Cup team earlier this week and had my final US wild card pick between Furyk and Berger. Reckon Berger could qualify outright if he wins tonight and Jim may end up with the pick.
