Obv we're not going to be straying too far from the obvious in most races, but a few thoughts...

Newmarket 1.45
Illustrious Prince has a decent record over a straight 7f, ideally at a stiff, undulating course. Think he has to go in.
I also like Zaitsev at a price, as there's every chance he'll be the one to lead up the near side from 12. His last run at Beverley was better than it looked, as they went a million in front and set it up for closers. I'd like him even more were Until Midnight not drawn next door.

Newbury 2.40
Couldn't find any way of narrowing this down tbh. Stick with those at the top of the market and plenty of them.

Newmarket 2.55
None of those at the head of the market is bombproof on quickening ground. Brazos did best of the centre group at Newbury (winner chucked in and since fourth in the French Guineas) before winning. He's solid enough.

Thirsk 3.25
It's unlikely the field will split in a field of this size. The best pace is low and I wouldn't be surprised if it collapsed late and something came from off it. Tumblewind and Lastchancelucas looks the best of the high numbers.

Newmarket 3.30
Stomp was very impressive last time. No strong opinions here.

Thirsk 4.00
I'd expect Eutropius to go off favourite ahead of Lord Aeryn and wouldn't  be surprised if he started below 4/1. There's not a huge amount of pace in here and Celtic Sixpence might be the one to take them along. She's a course winner and worth sticking in.

Is it ok for Matt Lewis to send you £100 on stars, Dan?

He was in last week, but has been dithering like my old dear in Waitrose all week when I kept asking him.

It's up to the guys doing the perm now, they kinda need a final firm figure. If he sends it's 8170 for the final total

Had counted it in.  Still working

Doobs

Does 10am work as a deadline that gives you time to confirm the numbers?

Edit: to be clear that's 10am for people to send and after that the total is set?

Would prefer to know before I go to bed, and not much chance of me sleeping after 7.  Work on different times to everyone else.  10.30 to 12 is bad for me and 12 on isn't great.  If Neil has pointed out something bad, I can adjust, but that tends to be 1 in 1 out rather than rejigging numbers of horses.   Can we just stop it at midnight, barring adjustments to make the perm work?  It is 4 hours after you originally said.

I can top up a bit if you need a specific amount for "round numbers "

off to bed  so anything up to £100 more ( if needed )  can ship in the morning
