I have been an Iphone user for a number of years now and have found them very good. Ease of use, software, layout, camera, apps, etc.
However, as a regular tournament poker player I have found that battery life has become a big issue, to the point where my iphone 5 was giving me a couple of hours of listening to music and fiddling on the internet before it was needing more charge. (I take a battery pack with me now but its not the point)
So having brought out the 6 with the same battery size as the 5, I feel its time to show them they dont have a monopoly when they cant give me what I need; its time to change. I have been eyeing up the Sony Z3 series, although I have looked at others and read lots of reviews.
I do not have a large worthwhile library of apps or excusive Apple content and wont mind tranfering data.
This may seem like a slightly trivial post but anyone that uses their phone a lot will know why I'm posting this. What I'm wondering is if anyone has experience of coming away from iphone and to what, and how they got on.

I've felt for years that the phone that manages to bring out an amazing battery will be the next big thing in tech. I presume these phablets have better batteries simply because they are a bit bigger?

They have weirdly high customer loyalty but I know a few people who have switched from iphones (given their fall in market share that's not really a surprise). They're not really around at the moment to ask - but if there was anything specific I could probably get an answer tomorrow (?)

Have you considered getting someone to change the battery in your phone? All phones batteries lose their ability to hold charge over time, and switching between brands won't change that. You don't say how old your phone is, but I'm guessing it must be quite old since it's a 5.

I moved from iPhone to Android a few years ago and there's nothing wrong with Android. I moved purely because of cost but I'm quite happy with my HTC.

The other benefit of the Samsung phones is that they have removable batteries.
Always a benefit if you're out and about. Of course you can also get an external battery pack that can charge your phone whilst you're at poker.

And you can add memory.

Go for a Mophie battery/case or a monster power card.
