Good morning Blonde!

Staying at Circus Circus and the grand total of the trip is £921. I don't really care where I stay as long as it's on the strip somewhere, it's just going to be a base for getting my head down for a few hours each night.
---

I am a massive proponent for the use of electronic cigarettes. I started smoking when I was 18, which is a stupid age to start really. I manage to get through all of school without smoking, then on my 18th birthday I went and brought 20 Camel Lights from the all night garage because I was a proud 18 year old and I could. The fact that I had been able to buy fags throughout my school years when the legal age was 16 didn't really cross my mind. I was an adult (in official purposes anyway) and I was going to secretly chuff my lungs out all night in the garden so my mum didn't find out.

I "gave up" in November 2013. I use the term "gave up" loosely because I will still have the odd one when I am out or when I am caught short with no battery or juice for the electric one. I find I can't even finish a whole regular cigarette anymore without feeling sick.

But with this comes with the debate - Should you be allowed to use them at the poker table?

Personally despite the obnoxious massive electric pipe I carry with me, I really try not to make a show of blowing massive clouds around. I'll blow the 'smoke' under the table or behind me out of the way of other players. Despite it only being water vapor and flavouring on the way out, I can understand why people wouldn't want it near them, and I have no problem not using it if someone asks me not to. Curious to hear other people's thought on the matter.

Given that 20 Marlboro are pushing £10 now, and a bottle of e-liquid can last you 5 days and can be bought online for as little as £1, I am honestly surprised at the amount of people that still smoke.

---

Agree 100% with the bolded part. Poker players get very negative about some aspects of Vegas - "The Rio is shite" & all that.

I spent my working life on the road staying in cheap B & B's & then, later, when I got posh, Travelodges & the like. So when I go to Vegas, even the worst room there beats anything in the UK. And it's Vegas baby, the weather is lovely, the poker is great, what's not to love?

When I go, my room is used for two things only - sleeping & showering. I'm in it, maybe, 6 hours per day, tops. I'll play a noon tourney, go busto mid-afternoon, & go find another. And another.

Or I'll go rail some WSOP Events, gawp at the faces, chat to my mates, take some photos, write a blog, which I generally do daily. This, to me, is living the poker dream. So yeah, the Hotel room does not bother me much.

E-Cigs. I'm SO near switching to them. You might just have made the final nudge. Strewth, I loathe myself for smoking, it's s filthy disgusting vice.

Honestly Tikay if you make the switch to E-cigs, you will wonder how you ever smoked regular ones.

My recommendation would be this kit to start - http://www.ukecigstore.com/e-cigarette-kits/variable-voltage-kits/aspire-nautilus-premium-kit.html

The tank on top is one of the best and most reliable on the market, comes with a bunch of new coil heads (which you only need to change once a month really) and a good long life battery. Easily two straight days of use on a single charge.

Then grab a few bottles of juice here - http://www.onepoundeliquid.com/ - I'd go for 12mg strength to start and either move down if it's making you feel a bit woozy or move up if you feel like it's not strong enough.

Total outlay of £60 to begin with, which is about £25 more expensive than one of the cheap kits you might see in the shops, but in my opinion if you're putting something close to your face every 10 minutes, it's worth buying a reputable brand instead of risking blowing your face off with a unbranded kit from China.

Plus what's a week's worth of Richmond now anyway? About £50? It'll pay for itself within a fortnight which means more cash for comps!

There was a guy in the G (Luton) recently, he wasn't a reg and seemed the sort who would argue over nothing, anyway he had what I can only call a super duper smoke ("it's only vapour") making machine, I'm mean this wasn't the normal sort of e cig that u see, it was not only about 10 inch's long but also had a square box on the end that he held onto like a pipe. I was sitting 2 to his left and he was chugging away on this thing like a new toy, I'd not long been moved to the table but wondered how the guys sitting there were putting up with it, I decided it was because the guy didn't come across as approachable, quite aggressive looking and the chugging added to his demeanour. After about 10 mins I struck up a conversation with the purpose of getting him to stop the chugging or at least not blow the "vapour" and I really use the term loosely in this case away from the table. I said that I had never seen one as big as that before and of course he told me that he had started a business selling them and it was going very well,  I kindly said that he was blowing the vapour over all of us and would he mind blowing it in the air or refrain from doing it at all, at this point I got the standard reply "it's only vapour, it's not harmful in anyway, to anyone". Apart from the fact that this machine was blowing out enough smoke to make my eyes water I've always wondered to myself if in 20 or 30 years time the scientist will be telling us all that more research should have been done before these things were brought to market unregulated, the sort of things that only come out after a generation of people smoking them. Anyway it took less than 5 minutes for the guy to be chugging away again blowing his vapour out of every hole imaginable, shame even the supervisor wouldn't stop him seeing as the casino sell them as well. I felt slightly justified when a few hours later he was having a full blow argument with someone about the exact same thing on a cash table.

Ban them from being smoked inside, vapour or not, they cannot be healthy for you. At least with real cigarettes u know u will get cancer or some other horrible illness and die, with these we must all suffer until someone works out our children will be born with eight fingers and no thumbs.

Great diary Ransom keep it up.

Tell me that video is a level?

He's like blowing CLOUDS.

It's a level, right?

I urge everyone to watch that, (it's only 50 seconds or so) it's sheer comedy. No, really.

Here you go. Go on, watch it.

Jesus 250watts?! That's the most unnecessary device I think I've ever seen. Mine goes up to 50watts but setting it higher than 25w makes me cough my lungs up.

There's a community of people who just want to "chuck clouds" as they call it, but you need to actively make a bunch of low resistance coils and make a certain type of juice to achieve that. Looks like the minority might ruin it for the majority once these high powered devices become cheaper. That guy has definitely taken that with him for attention, he was just begging for someone to ask about it so he could talk about his new business.

I agree that we won't see the full effects of inhaling e-liquid for years, and we all could very well be doing damage to ourselves with it. Inhaling anything other than oxygen over a long period of time isn't going to be any good to you. Though personally I would rather be inhaling nicotine with Vegetable Glycerine rather than nicotine with tar, ammonia, arsenic and countless other nasty stuff.

Maybe children will end up being born with 8 fingers and no thumbs, but I am from Cornwall and I doubt they'd notice down there if they did.

VEGETABLE glycerine? Now you tell me. I don't do Veg. Way too healthy, that stuff.

Cornwall? You have much in common with folks from the Fens & East Anglia, trust me. Can you imagine cross-breeding someone from Cornwall with someone from the Fens? The mind boggles. Or it would.

In all seriousness I don't know enough about them to make an arguement either way, as u say better Vegetable Glycerine than the other stuff (for now). What Am quite adamant about is that they should be treated like cigarettes in a public place, I shouldn't have to breath in your exhaled vapour. I don't burp in your face.  Grin

I love Circus Circus - proper retro as someone said before.  The Mrs always makes us stay somewhere she likes but I always make sure I get over to Circus for some low stakes afternoon roulette and beers on a couple of afternoons.

This has proper set me off. I'm going to have to nip across the road for one, haven't had a fab since I was a kid.

Would not surprise me if they're about £2 each now.

Was always a lot more partial to a Feast when I had a pound left of pocket money, nice blue ice pole if my 11 year old coffers were empty.

There's about 5 in Bedford now. 6 if you count the one that also sells various contraptions "FOR TOBACCO USE ONLY".

One has a cafe inside, but they really like the hard sell of their products which are pretty outrageously priced compared to some of the other vape shops about. If I was going in for a tea and a sandwich I would prefer not to have someone trying to offload some merchandise on me.
