i recall 4 handed on the final table of a tournament years ago someone opened, I looked down a so I raised, they though for ages and went all-in, I called very quickly he said "you have Ace King?" I said "No i have two nines" he looked devastated and flipped two 8's over. I then turn me over and he was delighted again.... Till i made a 9 obviously #nojustice and before anyone asks, I won that tournament

Great start to the diary Lee. Glad you finally managed to come up with a suitable thread title.
Don't mean to rush you or anything but I don't suppose you've finished that quote for my wardrobes have you?

If he takes this long for the quote are you not a bit worried that by the time he has finished the work you might have moved house already?

Think my error was caught on live stream at Dtd.
Sb move in 3 handed I look at the top of one queen and then sneak a peak at another CALL! Snap turn my hand over and am sick to see I have to q9! It was still the best hand and I was getting kudos for making a great call. Luckily it held otherwise could've been quite an expensive lesson!

Twice in recent memory I've been so exhausted playing that I've been half falling asleep at the table and played hands thinking I had entirely different hole cards. Usually the hand I had before, or sometimes just a hand that was in my head.
It's such a bizarre feeling turning over a hand on the river that is different from the one you expect it to be.
My luckiest experience with this was about 5 years ago in a cash game. I remember doing some crazy bluff with K4 on a 553 board, turn and river were blanks and I went allin on the river for about half my bankroll at the time.
The guy called and I angrily mucked my cards, they bounced off the dealers hands and turned face up - I actually had K5!
