Less than 2% of under 25s were female imo.  tempted to say even less than 1% tbh.  How many ladies under the age of 25 are seriously going to invest 10 large into a poker event?

Of ALL the 6,420 entrants.....

501 were in the 21-25 band. (7.8%).

Of those 501, 12 were female. (2.4%).

I had assumed both numbers would be much higher. From outside the USA, just 226 males & 4 females aged 21-25 took part.

The age of 56 & older had 710 entrants (11%), of which 34 (about 5% of the male total) were female.

Not many years ago (2, 3 at most?) Bodog alone must have sponsored into the WSOP Main 20 or more females in the 21-25 age bracket. None now, of course.

Bodog have done a lot of things in the last 10 years which sadly they don't do any more!  VIP pool parties in costa rica being one of them!

Most of the women were 'freelance' for the pool parties and flown in first class from New York!   Grin

I thought I saw James AKenhead's name in dispatches.  Wouldn't swear to it though, and I didn't see any of them when I was there.

I notice that the whatever happened to James Bord question has been partly answered.
