not seen any Akenhead/Bansai/Marenholtz names pop up.
Anyone know if the boys went over this year?
James Akenhead did the Sky Poker Show last week, & I expected him to be here for the Main, & maybe he was, but I never saw him.
Praz was here, played the Main, but never progressed. Was quite odd to see him playing without his trademark pimple on a piecrust attitudey hat.
Karl never came, presumably Amy would not give him a pass.
Chas Chatta is here, but I've not seen Sunny.

Was playing cash in "Pavilion" last night, after Day 2C concluded, when they announced that the room would close at 2am, & for the rest of the series, the Daily Deepstacks would be in Amazon, & cash games up in the Rio Hotel cardroom "proper". (A pithy 10 table affair up near the Sports Book).
At 9am this morning, the circus was preparing to leave town.

Why the unseemly haste?
The USA National Pool Championships are coming to town, & the riffling of chips will be replaced by the sound of break-off shots thudding into the rack. Must be quite a sight & sound.

It would save a fortune if someone could develop a combined poker/pool table. They're not that different in size to start with. Just needs a few movable sections.

No "valets" in Vegas Alan, they are "cocktail waitresses".
This is the standard apparel for those in The Rio - a sort of negligible negligée with a thong thing underneath.

They don't just serve drinks, they have to do a little turn on a mini stage every hour or so.

There are some casinos where you'd swear you were in Benidorm.

I have seen Praz out and about but he hasn't played many events.
Chaz is here and still in the ME. Not sure if Sunny plays any more.
I would expect Karl to be at home looking after Amy

9.22pm.
1,002 players remain.
With the players spread across two rooms, over a hundred yards apart, it's a bit of a nightmare to manage.
There is some serious dwelling going off, & has been for an hour or so, understandably.
It's actually a $10,000 Bubble at 1002 players, as the Bubble Boy generally gets free entry into the next year's Main. 1000th & better, right up to 649th, get $15,000.
Once the bubble proper bursts, chips will be flying in all directions.

The Bubble appears to have burst, judging by the cheering & shrieking from Amazon Room.

When the announcement was made that the bubble had burst, Jack Effel announced that all 1,000 players would receive, in addition to $15,000, a FREE HAT from the sponsors.
Considerable laughter ensued.
Nice hat, mind.
