Smashing Pumpkins covering Fleetwood Mac

Placebo covering Kate Bush

Good choices.  Love that version of Landslide.

Here's one of my favourite covers.  Gimme Shelter, by the Rolling Stones, was covered by various artists for a charity record for Shelter, back in 1993.  My favourite of those versions by a country-mile was the collaboration between New Model Army and Tom Jones:

no good at links but Cake - I will survive, Godhead - Eleanor Rigby, The Damned - Help., also seem to remember The Lemonheads covering Luka.

Also have to say the girl who sang Smells like teen Spirit on the voice (on Saturday) was quite impressive never would have thought it could be sung like that.

Makes me feel very old that there will be quite a few blondes who are too young to remember this.

Thanks or posting the Linkin park cover of Rolling In the Deep - phenomenal.

The Cash "American" albums are just full of brilliance - Rick Ruben inspired Cash to try so much out of his comfort zone, in the main the arrangements are beautiful and Cash delivers inspiring vocal performances, of course the base material helped even if it was written by Sting.

And 2 for the price of one

China Drum cover Kate Bush 'Wuthering Heights'

It's a hidden track on their 1996 'Goose Fair' album. After the last song finishes, you have to Fast Forward nearly 30 mins to find it. I only found it coz it woke me up after I'd fallen asleep on the flight back from the Falklands listening to the album and the start of the song roused me from my kip.

I'm in the final stages of putting a tribute band together for the world's greatest covers band "Me First And The Gimme Gimmes" (we're going to be "Me Next And The Gimme Gimmes")

They do this sort of thing:
