Photographer Jay Daley from Australia took this incredible picture of the Milky Way while out experimenting with his camera in New Zealand's Mount Cook and the surrounding Westland Tai Poutini National Park

You can tell that's taken in the Southern hemisphere because it isn't revolving around a single point, which you (as near as makes no difference) get oop North.

An exhibition match in Zurich between former World Championship Candidate, Wolfgang Uhlmann - 80 years young - and former World Championship Runner-Up, Viktor Korchnoi - an astonishing 84.
A chess journalist looked up where these two rank in terms of most recorded games of chess (national and international level tournaments and matches):
Top give you an idea of Korchnoi's strength, despite a life-threatening stroke two years ago, he still has a rating that would put him 14th in England's list, ahead of no fewer than twelve grand masters!

Page 3 and 2 Islamic state propoganda photos. I understand you want hits, but surely this isn't the place for it? The lounge should surely be somewhere more light hearted than the main fora?
Maybe I just speak for myself, and I don't want to be confronted by that here. I read about the murders of the Coptic Christians, the Jordanian pilot and the man outside the synagogue. Each time I resisted the urge to take part in any rubbernecking.
Maybe it is just an Islamic State thing, I strongly feel that if they want us to watch, we really shouldn't. It feels very different to seeing a photograph from somebody who is just reporting the news. Even then I don't think we should have a rubberneckers thread in the lounge.

I posted them because I'm posting stuff that I have seen that particularly caught MY eye, that made ME think, be they good or bad.

You don't need to explain why you posted them. It is obvious. But we can think about theses pictures, videos and executions without seeing them.
There is a reason some press outlets are not showing them. ISIS don't show us prisoners spitting in their faces, they don't show them killing and mistreating women, they edit their videos, the videos show exactly what they want us to see. ISIS all poweful, the enemies are always powerless and weak.
We give them the publicity and we don't give publicity to people who behave reasonably, then some of those that behave reasonably stop doing so? It is a bit like Katie Hopkins on Twitter, the more shares she gets, the more controversial she gets. But it doesn't stop there, others start behaving like wankers too.
And we only show ISIS in positions where they have the power then people will start seeing them that way? Why join a bunch of losers when you can join the winning side?
It seems a shame that we publish what they want us to and are becoming too scared to publish what they don't want us to.
