Mr Bedi now sits at the same table as Dewi James. On his second hand, G2L opens under the gun (seriously, is that the only place people open these days?) to 16k.

He is called only by the big blind and they see   .

Check to Mr Bedi, who thinks about checking behind how much he can bet to extract value from the hand he's just made. 20,000 is too much for his opponent, whose gaze turns to the tv screens, refusing to watch as so many of his betting disks become someone else's.

Next up, Anon makes the first move to 16k from mid position...

...which is promptly bumped up to 40k by the button, Akaash Bhatia, as though he were trying to make the point that chaos ensues when people don't open from under the gun.

It's folded round to our opener, who now has to decide what he wants to do. Anon rocks his head from side to side. It's clearly a decision. He writhes in his chair (probably not getting a fold now, mate) and, unable to remove the cloak of stoicism from his opponent's visage, he passes.

Any updates on how many players left and the average stack? And any players of interest, of course!

I wander over to table Kendall, which is now 23, after the break before the break (if you see what I mean).

A bescarfed tikay regales me with the tale of his cold fourbet with less than aces, while the others play poker around him. They've heard this story before.

Osman Mustanoglu opens to 16k and I get the privilege of watching a poker legend mull a move. He turns properly to address the table, cracks his knuckles, adjusts his scarf and inspects what the dealer has offered him. "I see...", the thought bubble above tikay's head reads (he should probably get that looked into; visible thought bubbles are something of a leak in live poker).

Tikay counts out his stack, before restoring them to their one-unit tower form.

He's going to do it.

HE'S GOING TO DO IT!

Tikay picks up his stack and, with incomparable swagger, places all but 4 green chips over the line.

"Is he all in?", Mustanoglu enquires, quite sure the answer is No but not quite able to believe what his eyes are telling him (think that look when someone told you it was a black and blue dress). His opponent is now assured his eyes do not deceive him and that the venerable television poker expert has three bet and left himself with a small blind behind.

Tikay now realises his mistake. They say you can tell a great player because, when he realises he's done something wrong, he carries on and pretends it was all part of the plan. So, tikay now withdraws his stack and tries to push the reunited total of his chips over the line. He is reminded that this isn't some Hollywood home game and he can't get away with that. Bet stands, sir.

Mustanoglu folds  face up. These will not suffice.

Mr Kendall is into the comfort zone of a 20 Tog - sorry, 20 Big Blind - stack.

Verndog is...now brace yourself for this news...

HATLESS

He is sans hat. Dehattified. Unbehatted.

When I ask whether this can be the same guy who I was told was born with woollen hair, he produces, Paul Daniels-like, a hat from the table beside him, before restoring it - I can only assume - to the teapot it was keeping warm.

Serves him right for asking me to come over, IMO
