and, if i was being critical, Dyche spent his promotion transfer budget on Jutciewicz and Marvin Sordell
i know it would have been a struggle regardless, and the job to get promiotion was fantastic, but the universal view that he's the best thing since sliced bread falls down slightly when you loobk at how he tried to strengthen the squad....
I have forgot the last time burnley scored. One goal in eight games. Imagine how few points they would have if Ings wasn't miles ahead of his talent at the start of the season.

There's another radio interview following the apology. Think the journalist sounds like a nob

I agree. I think a lot of these frustrated jobbing journos secretly love a spot like this for 15 minutes of fame.

FWIW I think the journo is 100% correct.
For a team in the bottom 3 for most of the season Leicester/Pearson have almost completely avoided criticism.
Why should it be fair to criticise a Manager of a team who happens to be bottom, or doing badly?
On that basis, we should all diss Sean Dyche, but we don't, because we know he has no resources & the worst team. That's not his fault though, & just because Burnley are not good enough, it does not make Dyche (or Pearson at Leicester) a bad manager.
I didn't say it would be right to critise Pearson.
I'm just saying he has avoided any of the flack usually associated with managing a team in the bottom 3.
He hasn't though
Mostly self inflicted he's had 4-5 rucks this season with journalists, been fined and touchlined for swearing at a fan (who himself was way out of order), been sacked and re-instated later the same day, banned BBC radio....
not exactly all sweetness and light
dyche (lack of resources, small club) has got a free pass and thats fair enough
the press ate out of redknapp's pockets (all those big signings, big name players and QPR consistently underperforming) until he left with his knee injury that wasn't a month later too. i'd argue he got way more of a easy ride than pearson has
Maybe the local media have given him a hard time, but the nationals haven't nearly as much as expected.
He should have been fired for the touchline thing with Meyler IMO.

MacArthur? (Meyler was Pardew)
looked very weird, and played terribly but they go a way back. Pearson almost signed him before cambiasso decided to join. MacArthur texted him the day after and joked about the fuss.
national press? we're a smaller club in a big division. the national print press only turn up for big games/press conferences related

Yeah, MacArthur.
Looked terrible to me. Although Pardew got away with worse I suppose.

Well done to him for keeping Leicester up.
Im a sunderland fan and cant see us picking up another point.
Leicester been better than us, Burnley, QPR, Villa, Hull, West Brom and Newcastle this season. Should be safe and sound by now if it wasnt for a bit of luck.
Justified for yesterdays interview as he was on smack.

This is very well worth watching, even though it made me squirm in my seat.
I admire Pat Murphy, like his work, & the lines he takes generally, but I think he went well ott here. Pearson is not answerable to a reporter, imo, he is only answerable to his Employers. Think I'd have told Murphy to bugger off.

I had the same opinion of Murphy and I found the whole thing very disappointing from his end, brave, but necessary?
Pearson handled the situation very well I thought. He does have "that look" that could wither a Honeybadger in a bad mood though.

loved the parts when Murphy keeps saying" i would come here more often" and you can just tell Pearson wants to say "i dont give a Sh** if u are here or not"

Excellent job by Pearson in making him look the snotty child he was.
Probs did more to turn round any negative perceptions of Pearson than Pearson could manage on his own
