This was Roxannes lunch today, admittedly we ate out and it's not a roast so doesn't count, but I liked the look of it so I thought I would post anyway 😉

lobster. yummm.

why are the new potatoes covered in tanning oil?

where are the yorkshire puddings?

A lovely bit of pork, ready to be the centre of our Sunday Lunch.

Massaged with oil and sprinkled with sea salt.

Start the roasting process hot to set it up for crispy crackling, let it roast a while on a lower heat before going back up to max ready to add the YP batter

After last weeks fishy fiasco, gone back to basics.

No meat was massaged in the making of this dinner.

Looks delicious. Not sure I would be brave enough to eat it whilst wearing a white shirt/blouse.

Kitchen exemplar?  Does this mean I was disqualified because my kitchen wasn't smashed up?  Genuinely confused.

I'm gonna hold off scoring until you can confirm whether that thing towards the top right of the plate is a meat or a mini baguette?

It is a chicken breast. Seasoned, perhaps a little over cooked but by no means bland or dry. Looks ugly as it has been gouged to check it was cooked.

The carrots really were a lovely little touch as well. Fresh from the bag, not frozen.

Cutlery is very cheap. Would have got the best china out if I owned any. Laptop is always close at hand - recent searches include 'can you roast carrots' and 'how to make a yorkshire pudding' (looked too complex).

Some brilliant efforts on here today.

To be fair, we used to always have them on their own as a starter.  They were there, whatever we had for Sunday dinner, but fair to say we didn't eat much pasta or curry.

Yorkshire puds defo best as a starter. My grandma wouldn't have it any other way

I grew up in Northampton and we always had Yorkshire Pudding (cooked round the meat) as a starter.
Funnily enough we were discussing this at the lunch table today and agreed that we knew nobody else who had done that. It's reassuring to discover I'm not alone.

Last week's dinner.

Notes I was making it when last week's thread was started, so wasn't making it for the thread.  With better planning I'd have put a few parsnips in and maybe another green veg.  The presentation was a bit lacking on the plate, as I had been through the round of "I don't want cabbage", "I don't want chicken", "I want a leg", "I just want gravy on my yorkshire pudding", and that was just the missus, the kids were worse.  After all that I forgot I was planning to take a photo, and just threw it on the plate.

Chicken on a Sunday dinner, can't really get enthusiastic about it, especially when it's lying there on it's own. It looks like Judith Chalmers sunbathing nude on a deserted beach at Cleethorpes.  If you are going to display your meat pre, at least leave it in the roasting tin with some potatoes and parsnips. Meh meat -1

Cabbage looks par-boiled, pale and cold. Sould be darker and have a fatty sheen. -1

Roast spuds look small and uncrispy, -.5

Carrots not wrinkly enough, deffo need anothe 15 mins. -.5

Yorkshire puds. look sort of OK but Small ish. Suspect only one each and you borrowed from another plate for main pic -1

No stuffing. -.5

No peas. -1

No bonus veg like parsnips, sprouts etc. -.5

No cranberry sauce or condiments. -.5

Watery gravy. - .5

Miss matched crockery. -.5

Cutlery with round handles that twist in your hand without warning or telltale sensation. -1

Total 1.5/10
