No mashed potato -1
People have mashed potato with a roast?? Big fan of the gravy boat though you mean there are heathens that don't? Surely Sunday Dinner is a roast dinner - hence roast potatoes with it; or would you advocate roast potatoes as well as mashed?Of course. I don't think I'd want that much potato - but I definitely approve of the concept surely it's the meat that's roasted? although clearly have both....

I normally have both roasties and mash Having managed to score -0.5 for my efforts compared to someone who only cooked half a roast dinner and someone who thought they could get away with a kebab for Sunday dinner I feel that I best try harder next week.

A nice scoop of creamy mash is great for soaking up those last dregs of gravy with the meat bits floating in it.

You roast the potatoes in the same tin as the meat to improve the flavour

In fairness to Eck though, he did actually cook his. In fact I will take his Yorkshire pudding argument on board and increase his score to 4/10

I will try to make my own Yorkshire's next week as I admit this was prepared by the Aunty. Any other tips to get me into positive figures?

Use beef or lamb, add peas, mash etc, present better, include sundries like cutlery drinks and sauces.

Use one of those big oval plates so that the food can be separated properly.

Would be interested to see how a Wetherspoons £7 with a drink roast dinner would be scored. Always think they are cracking value.

Reasonable. Has most of the ingredients. (mash and cauliflower cheese usually available but not shown here) Pretty lackluster though. 4.5/10

Don't listen to them Eck, your dinner is fine.
I'd happily come round and taste test, if invited.

And what it is with people who are taking points off for no sauce?
The only sauce you need with a roast meal is gravy!
Mint sauce? Apple sauce? No thanks. Detracts massively from the taste of the meat.
