Asked Blair whether history would condemn his decision to invade Iraq. His response: "I believe that history will take a different view."

wow 700k jobs fewer advertised online since you know what Well, not exactly suprising. Businesses would never have been advertising for jobs in that week following the referendum whatever the result.

This is such a purple patch for politics, it's like watching a politics firework display which keeps getting more intense and jaw-dropping. I think the report shows the very worst of Blair but in the same breath I can still understand why he feels his motives were holistic. Mary I (Bloody Mary) burned loads of people at the stake but thought she was doing the work of God so patted herself on the back for it.
Anyway, it looks like Blair took that sketchy info and committed himself to what was 'right' with the added bonus of climbing inside the Bush banana hole. Then Blair the showman wonders how he can turn on the razzle dazzle and 'sell' his way to the people. So he doesn't exercise his duty to check the credibility of the info but instead uses it to over-egg and over-sell his idea to take us to war. He doesn't wait for legal, he just steams on and manipulates. Millions of people protested but he was so very certain. Lots of people died and the UK became a target but he is still so certain.
This is one of the huge positives of the EU referendum because this wretched era of politics has come to an end. A bush fire of party leaders and a new awareness that politics is not to 'sell', cajole and manipulate people to your way of thinking. It's to listen to the people and let their views enter YOUR considerations, not to dismiss them as ignorant and continue forwards as determined as ever. A distinct lack of respect for people's views and people's lives throughout.

I love how Brexiters link this one result to everything that's good about the world and politics.
The two are only linked by timing

Along similar lines, it demonstrates that you can't trust parliament to be considered and be sure they are acting in our interests.
Iraq war was authorised with cross party support with around 3/4s of the votes going for war - sounds familiar to today's situation with 3/4s of MPs gone loco and wanting to overturn the exit vote. The main evidence - 12 days of uncertainty and only thick, poor, racist cts voted to exit anyway.
It's just one of those days when you don't wanna wake up

Aren't remainers doing exactly the same? Anything bad that happens at the moment has the phrase 'since Brexit' dropped in there somewhere.
