interesting quote from the head of Momentum

Jon Lansman ‏@jonlansman

Democracy gives power to people, “Winning” is the small bit that matters to political elites who want to keep power themselves

Angela Eagles partner is Maria Exall from the Alliance for Workers Liberty, or at least used to be in the AWL.  I bet that relationship is going to be feisty.   Maria Exall has been a long serving member of the Labour Representation Committee (LRC) and has been very loyal to John McDonnell.

Also hearing that  The LRC will be fighting 100% for Jeremy Corbyn's leadership with Maria's backing.

What happens to the leadership election if she does withdraw?

Just had a dabble on Gove at 600 and Boris at 760 just in case.

Theresa May into 1.02 so it looks like it won't be re-opened.

They have been discussing this on 5live for quite a bit.  Happened before when Michael Howard was elected and David Davies pulled out.  So under that precedent, May will be PM.  Only uncertainty is when she takes over.

Theresa May's campaign strategy of doing nothing while all of her opponents set themselves on fire sequentially has worked then

some sanity at least, Leadsom looked very naive all weekend

£ has jumped a cent against the dollar on removal of some of the uncertainty

spare a thought for Eagle, launching her leadership challenge at 12, with a rush off journalists exiting before the start to get outside Leadsom's gaffe

timing is everything

How quick could we have a General election? Surely the strategy has to be to get one as soon as possible before Eagle and Jezzer have theirs?

i don't know if anyone listened to May launch her campaign this morning

very interesting speech, could have been Ed miliband in 2012 if you just read the text

quite statist, not very market forces focussed. More Ted Heath-y than Thatcher-y

Labour are toast for 10 years, not just 10 weeks.

Meh, I reckon she'll shift to the right sharpish after what has happened this lunchtime.

At least Farage won't be involved in Brexit hopefully.

Don't rule it out, he won't be happy with Leadsom quitting.

I'm still expecting Boris to swoop in.

Well its striking that everyone most vocal about Brexit in uk politics has stepped down after they won!!

May is barely a one nation tory, so barely that you struggle to make the case that she is but at least its not Leadsom and a party split and really overt right wing stuff
