Now comes the really difficult part for David Cameron http://bit.ly/28Sboww

Allegra Stratton ‏@ITVAllegra

Am being told that Cameron and Osborne are finished. There will be a "dignified exit" say senior Tories. "Not immediate".

George Eaton ‏@georgeeaton

Likely that Brexiters will seek early election to secure unambiguous mandate for new terms.

The issue for the PM is that as much as he might like to resign it probably isn't in national interest to do it straight away

What are the main effects of leaving?

What timescale will we leave?

How will it effect immigrants currently in the country?

effects

1. some short term economic uncertainty. how much and how long and how important up for debate.

1. a guide to what sort of trade deals you might eventually see you might see

1. eventual return of sovereignty, currently around 55% of UK laws are made with/by the EU and these will need to be rewritten and approved by our parliament outside the EU

1. some form of restriction of future free movement of labour, controls on immigration. unknown as of yet

1 (probably) another Scottish referendum, maybe a northern irish one. probable(?) break up of UK. no view expressed here as to good or bad but has to be included on the list.

2. once article 50 is invoked, 2 years to negotiate everything. good time to be a lawyer.

3. unaffected

anything i have missed?

Brexit. We need an election and a Labour government to stop Boris/Farage turning this into a Thatcherite wonderland

I wonder if Milliband would have caused this much short term damage to the economy - too fun.
