This made me smile

Girl Effect said its aims had been "wilfully misrepresented" in the media.

The title of the webpage

Yegna, Ethiopia's 'Spice Girls', lose UK funding

Girl effect and what they do are detailed here

http://www.girleffect.org/our-purpose/

best summed up by "spice girls" I guess.

Well done. The people who have lied about this organisation should hang their heads in shame.

I noticed this on a friends facebook other day, he's a socalist like myself and I wasn't sure if he was at the wind up when he posted this.  But I actually share the sentiment, turns out he was serious.

I don't really like celebrity politics but Mrs O seems to me to have some substance.

"I'll probably get panned for posting this but I truly believe Michelle Obama is a wonderful advocate for young people, women, black America and society as a whole. A warm, personable, genuine human being, with a fantastic, positive message and outlook on life. She'll be greatly missed as First Lady"

If it wasn't clear, I was laughing at the ridiculousness of the BBC using the daily mail strapline, even after girl effect had complained they had been wilfully misrepresented in the media.  And not only that, had even mentioned the misrepresentation in the media.

You expect scumbaggery from the daily mail. It is what it exists for.

That Leavers won is down to three causes. One was the Labour Party leadership

How and why Brexit triumphed

The first books to try to explain the shock of the referendum last June

Labour brexit policy is nearly impossible because:

The new reality of building a Labour coalition
Of the 100 most pro-Brexit seats 46 are Labour
Of the 100 most pro-EU seats 41 are Labour

@goodwinmj (twitter)

Therefore the answer to any Brexit question asked is "the tories are ruining the NHS"

Tory strategy is Brexit.  Majority of their supporters support it and majority of their seats.

Surely as an opposition, you should be opposing, especially if the majority pf your supoorters are against it?

But instead Labour mumble something quietly about the benefits of immigration, but seemingly support Brexit.  Henve managing to annoy both sides.  It is saying something that we had more idea of Labour policy at the time of the referendum; and most of their supporters had no idea what it was then.

I strongly suspect it doesn't matter, because they are unelectable regardless of their policy on this issue.

Judging the prime minister on her first six months is nonsense. Brexit will be the true measure of her success or failure

this is interesting

with the NHSin the news and Labour trendign towards its comfort blanket of the NHS

"The NHS is back in the headlines as the winter takes its toll. There isn’t yet any new NHS polling since the news cycle started, but I thought it would be interesting to look at the long-term trends in NHS satisfaction and its importance as an issue."

https://www.ncpolitics.uk/2017/01/nhs-polling.html/

In essence Public not yet worked up about NHS, main issue Labour wants to talk about. Public are worked up about immigration/ Brexit but Labour doesn't want to talk there.
