It strikes me that Teresa May, should just turn round and admit she got it wrong and shouldn't have cut the number of police in the UK.

However, unless I have missed her say this, it seems that politicians are unable to admit they have made a mistake, for fear every decision they have made is therefore questioned.

To my mind, she becomes a better candidate for showing she can admit a mistake, not a worse one.

Am I wrong to think this, or is there more to it than that?

Admitting when you are wrong is positive for sure.  I would also view changing your mind in light of new information as important but there is no new information here, decimating the police force would always compromise the security of the people. They can't realistically claim they didn't realise this. Also through the period that the police force was decimated, the NHS hasn't been adequately funded, the Fire and Rescue Service has been decimated, regulation of the Environment has been underfunded and undermined. All these things are resulting in unnecessary deaths. Where would she draw the line in admitting mistakes?

I think this must be the first time that I have ever thought that the Tpries aren't going to get their majority. Not only are the polls tighter than ever, but it seems as if people have really overestimated the UKIP vote swinging. In addition to more people taking up their vote this year, it would seem that there might be a chance they might not get there.

Then we go back to the issue of funding overall.

You can't make a silk purse from a sows ear, as my old ma used to say.

Therefore for Cornyn to suggest he CAN put all this right is just false posturing.

It's times like this I'm very glad we decided to never have kids. It could be quite some world come the next generation.

Disconnect between polls & view 'on the ground' remains striking

may rallied in bradfordsouth last night, lab or lib since 1918. can't win there surely?

corbyn was in gateshead, safest of safe seats. why?

Why are there jitters in the markets when polls show a Labour surge?

In the seats where UKIP are not standing there were 1,246,965 votes for UKIP in 2015. Over 1 million of those votes are in Con-held seats.

ComRes/Sun poll - 48% of all 2015 UKIP voters have switched to Tories, giving May a 6% overall poll boost;

it is this "realignment" firewall that will produce a tory majority, if it comes
