Inspired by the Later... thread, this is a thread for you to help others discover smaller bands/acts that you might not otherwise have come into contact with. The bands/acts can be any era, any genre but should be small enough to not be a household name. Ideally, give a short description and a link to a track. Hopefully we can discover some gems.

I'll start with a couple of acts I became aware of this summer:

Vintage Trouble

Genre: Blues, Soul, Rock & Roll

Similar to: Otis Redding, James Brown, Alabama Shakes

Track: Run like the river

Too Many Ts

Genre: Hip Hop, Rap

Similar to: Beastie Boys, Jurassic 5, Rizzle Kicks

Track: Boom Bap

Unfortunately I can't get either video to embed. If anyone can talk me through it (i've tried removed the 's' from https) or if a mod could do it, it'd be great.

EDIT - Tried to sort You Tube Links FAILED.

MC Solaar. Well known in France but not here. Been going a few years.

I think French is one of the best languages for the flow of hip hop. And the French love hip hop back.

Big MC Solaar fan. Good call. Used to listen to him a lot when I was studying French. Agree that French is a great language for rap/hip hop

New Fads were hampered by a singer who couldn't sing and a band who weren't that good with their instruments.  Scored very highly on quirkyness though

why have only 59,000 watched this?  Sure it was their best song by a mile

You might like Xavier Naidoo, in that case.
