One of the biggest stories of the day was the return of Phil Ivey. After being absent from the WSOP since last year's Main Event, Ivey took his seat this morning, and survived the day with 26,100.

There were lots of former Main Event Champions in the field today. Some of the ones who survived include Joe McKeehen 110,100, Ryan Reiss (82,700), Martin Jacobson (71,000), Chris Moneymaker (61,700), Scotty Nguyen (60,400), Phil Hellmuth (45,200), Greg Merson (24,300), and Joe Hachem (24,900).
