I quite like the fact that he doesnt take any shit from anyone  Smiley

Admit it, you run the Trump account.  No other explanation makes sense.

The threatened appointment of Ben Carson to the Cabinet is now official. The dimwit is being put in charge of a Department with a $50bn budget and 8,400 staff. This appointment would be inexplicable, if he hadn't let slip earlier in the year that he and Trump had done a deal whereby he was promised a big job in return for his support when he dropped out, though he had to retract quickly when he was told that such an arrangement would be illegal.

Meanwhile, Laura Ingraham is being trailed as Press Secretary. She may be very right-wing, but I would expect her to be competent, which is more than I can say for Ben.

The transition continues.

A few of last night's headlines:

- Future National Security Advisor General Mike Flynn's son has been sacked from the Trump team after a fake news story about a sex ring resulted in a shooting in a pizza house. The story, originating and developing on Trump-sporting websites, alleged that high-ranking paedophile Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, were involved in a child-sex ring based in pizza houses and that Clinton's house had been raided by the police. Flynn was also involved in spreading the story and his position is under pressure.

- Trump is further away than ever from deciding on a Secretary of State, with Kellyanne confirming that several new names have been added to the list, some of whom have been very critical of Trump. The best known is Jon Huntsman, former Governor, Ambassador and Presidential candidate (daughter is a Fox host).

- Megan Kelly has accused Dan Scavino, Trump's Social Media Director, of inciting online abuse - "unfortunately there is a man who works for Donald Trump, whose job it is to stir these people up and that man needs to stop".

- Reports that the Taiwan President may stop over in New York and meet Trump. China has officially requested that she be denied entry to the US.

- Ukraine expresses its fears for the future. Remember that Trump's previous campaign manager helped the last (pro-Russia) President to win power.

- Al Gore sounds frustrated about climate change - "there is no time to despair".

- Obama makes a speech warning against "false promises that we can eliminate terrorism by dropping more bombs". Trump makes a speech saying "our focus must be on defeating terrorism and destroying ISIS".

- Trump threatens flag-burners with loss of citizenship or a year in jail.

Just a normal evening in TrumpWorld.

It had to be Trump - he has dominated the year.

I see one of the runners-up was our own Nigel Farage. Makes you proud.

The Boeing thing is completely outrageous.

Boeing do a lot trade with China and are critical of Trump's anti Chinese rhetoric in a newspaper article.

Someone makes a massive short of Boeing stock.

Trump tweets that $4 billion bill for a replacement for Air Force 1 is far too expensive and threatens to cancel. (The actual cost so far is $140 million)

Boeing stock price falls. Someone makes a killing.

Romney isn't the only candidate for Secretary of State to have opposed Trump. Jon Huntsman withdrew his support in October and called for him to drop out and let Pence stand instead. Retired Admiral James Stavridis went a lot further, tearing Trump apart in several areas - "his reckless proposals would deeply damage the underpinnings of the global system and work to America’s profound disadvantage.......I can picture the scene: national security advisor Tiffany Trump walks into the Oval Office with a load of charts on trade policy, basing agreements, cost-sharing, and balance of payments – all while Russian troops are pouring into Estonia..........he entirely ignores the consequences of these actions or is too uninformed to even see them. It’s simply ludicrous." It seems odd that he has now been invited to Trump Tower.

General John Kelly was today named as Secretary of Homeland Security, joining General James Mattis and General Mike Flynn, already nominated as Secretary of Defense and National Security Advisor. If Admiral Stavridis joins them, the already military-heavy Trump team is going to look very unbalanced.

Trump just appointed Linda McMahon, co-owner of the WWE.

Yep, this is happening.
