He's in. Bloomberg finally joins the race, in a determined attempt to prevent Warren from winning become President.

Reportedly spent 34 million for a weeks advertising .

Actually think it will help EW and Bernie politically and hopefully take some votes
away from every other white male candidate .

EW and Bernie neck and neck in polls . Going to be interesting if either drops out
and endorses the other . Big chunk of votes in both camps .

She's a proper nut job. It's amazing that she is still being treated seriously over there - she would have been exposed long ago here.

Admittedly I haven't watched this one, as it's quite long, but I've seen plenty with her and when you've seen one Tulsi interview you've seen them all.

We know Devin Nunes from the House Intelligence Committee, where he leads the Republicans and performs a double act with Adam Schiff, head of the Dems. They are currently the two most important players in the Impeachment case.

Devin is also involved in some other cases. He has been pestered by a couple of parody Twitter accounts, @DevinNunesMom and @DevinCow, for the last two years and has had enough, so he is suing both of them, and taking a case against Twitter itself.

He also has cases going against several others, one of which names Adam Parkhomenko of the Democratic National Committee. Parkhomenko's filing in response has brought derision on Nunes. Some unkind people think it's amusing that it goes into such specific detail, including stating that a cow couldn't operate a Twitter account as it doesn't have thumbs.

Unfortunately for Devin, going legal has made more people aware of the Twitter accounts. Since he filed, @DevinCow's followers have increased from 1,000 to 673,000.

Some of the parody Twitter accounts are comical.

Nothing like shining a light on them. That's some growth  going from 1k-673k!

An unusual one - Elizabeth Warren was talking about Black women in history and ran into protests from some of today's Black women, who say they want more school choice, code for charter (private) schools, contrary to her public school policy.

Liz was helpless until she was rescued by Ayanna Pressley, the only member of The Squad (the four ultra-progressive "women of colour" newly elected to the House last year) to endorse her rather than Bernie. Pressley's clever double-talk got them in line, but it would have looked better if Warren could have done it herself.

I've no knowledge at all about her policies, or why they're protesting.

Do they have a valid grievance, or is just a case of moaning for the sake of moaning in this instance?

Lucky she had the other woman there to save the day, by the looks of things.

The protestors say they want to be able to choose their children's schools, rather than being forced to send them to the local public school, whereas Warren is all-in on public schools. They got them to shut up by promising to let them meet her afterwards. At that meeting, Warren seemed to say that her children went to public schools, though her son switched to an expensive private one halfway through his schooling. Her daughter stayed public throughout, but she is a few years older, so that may have been due to necessity rather than a belief in public schooling.

It has to be said that the bona fides of the protestors have been questioned, as the Walton family (Walmart) funded their travel from all over the country to this event, but that doesn't change their case.

Warren can't afford for this to become a big deal after the Pocahontas thing, as her opponents have already been trying to paint her as a liar. She also has a case to answer on why her first teaching job ended. She has made a big deal in numerous speeches about being forced to leave because she was pregnant, but an earlier tape has recently emerged where she gave a different account.

Warren's poll numbers were sky-high a month ago, but have slid alarmingly since then. Her apparent lying is being talked up but it's too early to know whether it will blow over. If it sticks, it could become a major problem for her.

Warren being economical with the truth about her kids education and her belief that
she was part native American ( which according to an extensive report found that it did not help
her in any way ) pales into insignificance compared to the Donald.....

It's over 13000 now.

Don't know whether its sexism but the women running certainly seem to have to achieve a higher bar to get ahead but
I suppose that is the case in all walks of life.

Boris can’t be far behind on the ‘false or misleading claims’.

The demise of Kamala Harris is a classic example of how quickly and erratically the Presidential race changes. Black, female, eloquent and attractive, she was going to be the one who would challenge the status quo and mark a new era of opportunity. For the last couple of years, she has excelled in Senate hearings, most obviously with her incisive questioning of Jeff Sessions and Brett Kavanaugh, and came to the campaign with high expectations. Her announcement speech drew 20,000 supporters, the most ever, and she moved smoothly away from similar mid-level candidates like Klobuchar, Gillibrand and Booker to tuck in just below the big three, occasionally even heading some of them in polls. She peaked with the take-down of Biden in the first debate but, though it didn’t seem so at the time, that was also the beginning of the end. Her campaign was ready with T-shirts for sale with the killer "That little girl was me" line, and sold $2m worth in two days. Quickly, though, it became seen as cynical prepared stunt and sympathy switched to Biden. It was also an attempt to claim the Black vote, but her lifetime as a prosecutor and hardline Attorney General of California made it hard for them to love her.

Kamala’s main problem was authenticity. People know where conviction candidates like Sanders or Warren stand on the issues. At the other end of the Democrat spectrum, much the same can be said for Biden. Yang also has definite positions. With some of the others, it’s hard to know what they really believe, and their positions have the appearance of being formed in focus groups. Harris definitely gave that impression, though she’s not the only one. It's not healthy for a candidate not to know where they stand on the most polarising topics, and changing her mind about Medicare-for-All seemed to show that she didn't come to this campaign with burning beliefs. She also suffered a pasting from Tulsi in the second debate over her time as Attorney General, and didn't have a satisfactory response, either on the night or ever since.

Although there were sixteen major candidates in the race, Harris was one of only six who have qualified so far for the December debate, but she didn't see any point in continuing. She has pinned her withdrawal on lack of finance, but that was a symptom of her decline rather than the cause. It seemed like every poll since the Summer brought worse news, as her lack of reasons for running became more apparent. This week's polls showed her pushed down to sixth on a humiliating 2% by Bloomberg, who has just joined in. Of course he has bought it, spending twice as much in two weeks as Harris raised through her whole campaign, but it still counts.

Despite all the logical reasons for her failure, it is still shocking. Many believe that the running mate is almost guaranteed to be a woman this time. Six months ago, Harris would have been an almost-perfect option for VP. Her poor performance since then has made that less likely.

In case you’re keeping score, ex-Congressman and Vice-Admiral Joe Sestak and Montana Governor Steve Bullock also slipped out of the race this week, virtually unnoticed amid the hubbub over Kamala. Expect some bigger names to go soon - Cory Booker and Julián Castro could both be spectators before Christmas. Gabbard and Klobuchar might as well jack it in too, though Amy will be hoping to collect some supporters from other moderate drop-outs.
