Harris Faulkner of Fox News snagged an interview with Donald. He may have been expecting an easy time, but she didn't take his crap, contradicting him on his 'looting starts, shooting starts' nonsense and snorting the most sarcastic "How interesting" when he says it means two things. "Do you think most people see it that way?"

Trump seems to think that a phrase can originate from two people, even though one of them must have got it from the other. He should be careful about attaching himself too much to Frank Rizzo - there is no record of Rizzo using the looting-shooting phrase, but he is known for the election slogan "Vote White".

It wasn't a good week for Rizzo, whose statue was removed after Philadelphians had paid their respects.

There is a strange race in progress for a Senate seat in Massachusetts. Ed Markey has held the seat since 2013, when he took it over from John Kerry, who left to become Secretary of State. Before that, Markey spent 37 years in the House of Representatives. He is being challenged in the Democratic Primary by Joe Kennedy III, grandson of Bobby, who is currently in the House.

Challenging any member of Congress from within the Party was extremely rare for a very long time on both sides, but there have been a handful of Representatives challenged successfully in the last few years. It is still almost unheard of for a Senator to be Primaried. The challenges to House members have generally been due to policy differences, with progressives targeting moderates, but the strange thing in this case is that Kennedy has almost no policy differences with Markey, who is one of the most progressive Senators. Also Markey and the other Mass Senator (Elizabeth Warren) are both in their seventies, so one or both seats are likely to open in the next few years, so why doesn't Kennedy just wait? The answer is that there is a pool of impressive and ambitious youngish Democrats ripe to run for Congress (or already in the House) and Joe isn't guaranteed to get the nomination if he has to compete against them, despite his name recognition, so he has jumped the gun. Once Kerry and Ted Kennedy secured these seats, they held them for a quarter of a century, blocking all the upcoming talent, and many ambitious Mass Reps remained stuck in the House for too long, including Joe's father, Joe Kennedy II. Joe needs to make sure that he gets settled into one of the Senate seats while he has the advantage. Markey is just collateral damage.

However, it isn't turning out to be the foregone conclusion that might have been expected. Kennedy has a clear lead, but Markey hasn't just accepted his fate and is fighting a strong campaign, which is increasing in bitterness. Markey has a very strong ground campaign and a lot of young supporters, many of them transferring from the Sanders and Warren teams, but door-knocking isn't on the cards these days. It's a different story online, where the race has moved, with Kennedy having 1.1m Facebook followers compared to Markey's 58,000, for example. The Primary isn't happening til 1 September, so there could be a lot of bad blood spilt before then. After that, the actual election in November is irrelevant - Democrats always win in Massachusetts.

The President still hasn't mastered drinking.

It's like there is a problem with his arm, which some medics are saying could indicate some neurological damage.

He really is not well physically and obviously mentally .

There are a lot of people who need to be accountable for hiding the truth when he departs.

He leads with his left leg , his right arm doesn’t move .

His right half looks like it’s been affected by mini strokes.

Hard to tell with his mental capacity as to me he has always appeared dumb.

In fairness, that ramp is quite tricky. See how Obama struggled with it.

(After the first few seconds, this is just the national anthem.)

Erika Shields has resigned as Atlanta Chief of Police after a black man was shot dead by police.

Seems a pity to lose her.

These recordings are all from just after the George Floyd killing.

Was her resignation asked for, or did she just decide she'd had enough?

I just watched the whole bodycam from start to finish. Bloke was obviously hammered, and both the cops were nice as pie all the way through. There is absolutely no indictation of anything crazy happening, until the guy kicks off when one of them attempts to place him under arrest.

You don't see anything graphic, but obv hear the shots at the very end.

Why ever would they shoot him though? They were in no danger.

Did he not turn and fire the taser at him? At what point do the police shoot?

I've never been a fan of the police, and had my fair share of run ins over the years.

Definitely not one for excessive force, but I'm just not sure what they should do. Let him run off into the sunset with the taser after fighting with them both?

As opposed to killing him, yes of course IMO Mark.

At the end of the day he's just a drunk being stupid.

“ Both the cops were nice as pie all the way through “

They shot him dead as he was running away.

No threat to them.

He was drunk , pretty sure they could have apprehended him in a less lethal way than to kill him .
