Lara Trump (Eric's wife) is the family's most talented representative and is one of the top people in the re-election campaign.
She went on Jeanine Pirro's show last night, where she was asked about Biden not giving access to his personal papers for a search on Tara Reade and said "I would think if you were being accused of something and you were totally innocent, you would go to any length possible to try and clear your name including allowing people to open up files like that and make sure you’ve turned over every single leaf to prove your innocence, and make sure people understood that these charges were false and that you did nothing wrong.”
Now everyone is jumping on her answer, asking whether that applies to Donald's tax returns and other issues that he hasn't answered.

The Democrat-dominated House Appropriations Committee has called Fauci to testify this week, but the White House has declined, saying "it is counter-productive to have the very individuals involved in those [Covid-19] efforts appearing at Congressional hearings". I can understand why, even if it's convenient that he doesn't show up.
Meanwhile, the GOP-controlled Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has called him to appear on 12 May, and the White House has agreed that he can attend.
The Appropriations Committee isn't happy:

Why don't they want him to testify? Is it because it would make Trump and the others look bad when he has to say how things played out?
I saw Kayleigh McEnany got caught out early doors when pulling someone up for calling him 'Trump', and giving them the 'President Trump, to you', and she'd done the same to Obama
Obv very sharp, but can't listen to her voice for too long.

Has Trump's wife got a nut allergy? Looks like she's about to go into anaphylactic shock.

Probably something like that. It depends on who you ask - there are at least three versions. Mark Meadows, the new White House Chief of Staff, spoke on the phone with Committee Chairman Nita Lowey several times and pushed for more details about the hearing. According to the White House, they wanted to know why Fauci was in the frame and what the topics would be. According to the Committee, they wanted to clear the individual questions in advance.
Evan Hollander, House Appropriations Committee Spokesman:
"The White House has blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying."
Judd Deere, White House Deputy Press Secretary:
"While the Trump Administration continues its whole-of-government response to COVID-19, including safely opening up America again and expediting vaccine development, it is counter-productive to have the very individuals involved in those efforts appearing at Congressional hearings. We are committed to working with Congress to offer testimony at the appropriate time."
Kayleigh McEnany, White House Deputy Press Secretary:
"The Chief of Staff repeatedly asked what the subject matter of the hearing would be. Besides giving vague responses, she never gave too much detail as to what the actual subject matter would be other than it being a subcommittee for HHS funding, which would have been a rather odd fit for Dr. Fauci being that he's at NIH, which is a subdivision of Secretary Azar's HHS. So when we pressed for details as to why Dr. Fauci, in particular, was the right person for this testimony in this hearing, those details were never provided."
HHS = Department of Health and Human Services. NIH = National Institutes of Health.
Donald Trump, President of the United States:
"The House is a bunch of Trump-haters. They put every Trump-hater on the Committee."
Despite his presentation issues, he has a point. The actual committee is the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labour, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, which consists of eight Democrats and five Republicans.
And now the whole task force has been barred from testifying. An internal memo from the White House Office of Legislative Affairs was leaked yesterday: "For the month of May, no Task Force members, or key deputies of Task Force members, may accept hearing invitations. Exceptions may be made only with the express approval of the White House Chief of Staff." An unnamed official said it is "to make sure the task force members have the time they need to focus on the task at hand, not on preparing for four-hour hearings several times a week."

The marriage of Kellyanne and George Conway is really strange. They appear to be happily married, yet she works closely with Trump and is one of his best advocates, while he is one of the President's most outspoken critics. George is continually sniping at Donald on TV, print, Twitter, you name it - and Donald has shot back from time to time.
George is one of the leaders of The Lincoln Project (
https://lincolnproject.us/
), which exists to prevent Trump's re-election.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/17/opinion/lincoln-project.html
Although its leaders are all Republicans, the Lincoln Project has endorsed Joe Biden.
Now it has released this ad:
Donald isn't one to let an attack happen without hitting back:

Yeah, he's never going to be the most eloquent of speakers, even if he has ten terms. Unless they're almost over, it does seem peculiar to have hearings on what's gone/going on.
Fauci looks like he's stuck between a rock and a hard place, whatever happens?
Just seen a few clips of Donald on Fox, where they ask him about how this will impact the election and he manages to segue into 'greatest military in the world, I rebuilt it', in a matter of seconds, lol.
I think I might stay in quarantine until Xmas, and see what's going on then.

The stuff he posts you'd expect from a teenager, lol.
Is he one of the few super high level government people that run their own Twitter account all the time?

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife were spotted going to their gym in Brooklyn, ten miles from where they live.

Surely it's ok, as long as it's not against any rules that are in place.
Or are they all like us still, and no essential travel?
Regardless, you'd think it's easy to sit down before you pop off out and think how it'll look to joe public.

I did enjoy, in a ghoulish way, the workers blasting live and let die as Trump toured the Arizona mask plant
https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/trump-tours-factory-maskless-live-and-let-die-song-994546/
Trump no face mask, boss touches facemask with ungloved hand then tosses back onto the pile.
Strange times.

Election rallies are off, so the Trump campaign has gone online, with programmes seven nights a week. If you'd like to see tonight's show, led by Donald Trump Jr, and upcoming events such as Veterans for Trump, Moms for Trump, Black Voices for Trump and Evangelicals for Trump Prayer Call, featuring the likes of Lara Trump, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Katrina Pierson, you can find them all here:

And if you want to watch any of the previous ones, starting with last night's Latinos for Trump, you can see them here:

Love Triangle: Gavin Newsom - Kimberly Guilfoyle - Donald Trump Jr
Donald Trump Jr got divorced in 2018 and started being seen with Kimberly Guilfoyle, a Fox News presenter, who since left Fox to become Vice-Chair of a pro-Trump Super PAC and is one of the lead presenters of the online campaign.
So far, not so surprising - except Kimberly used to be married to Gavin Newsom, the Democrat Governor of California.
She started as a lawyer and worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Los Angeles and San Francisco. She married Newsom, who became Mayor of San Francisco shortly afterwards. After a few years, Kimberley got a job as a host on Court TV, which required her to move to New York. There, she also worked on Anderson Cooper's show on CNN as a legal analyst.
A couple of years later, Newsom and Kimberly divorced, blaming their opposite-coast careers. Around this time, moving to Fox News, where she ultimately appeared on all of their best-known shows, including nightly on The Five. It seems a strange move, but she says she was always a Republican, even when married to Newsom. She was twice in the running to become Trump's Press Secretary, when Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders got the job. It's believed that she was offered it the second time, but was contracted to Fox, though she ended up leaving the following year anyway.
Don’s girlfriend is older than Donald’s wife - she’s nine years older than him, and a year older than his step-mother.
