Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan

What a man!

RIP

Incred skills in the commentary box. Him and Gorilla Monsoon were the nut combo. Decent manager as well, he just seemed to thrive having the camera on him.

He looked so frail and different to how I remember him from my childhood Sad

His runs with Perfect and Flair were brilliant. The interview after Flair won the rumble I can remember like it was yesterday.  But his time with Monsoon, they were the perfect double act.

We missed Freddie Shepherd, e of Newcastle fame, and now every schoolboys hero(well he was when I was at school), Hugh Hefner dies at 91.

What a life he had!

GG indeed.

GG indeed.

Quite surprised nobody else commented on Mr Shepherd's passing, not even on the Newcastle FC thread. Maybe he did plenty wrong - & he did ("dogs" etc) - but he did plenty right, too, (Shearer, Keegan, Sir Bobby etc).

As I mentioned a few days ago, society seems to prefer digging out others than, God forbid, giving praise where praise is due.

GG indeed.

Never did one man demonstrate so well how times - thank God - have changed.

He was famous for leering at, perving, groping & generally messing with scantily clad young ladies half his age. And people LOVED him for that.

His Playboy magazine had a peak circulation in the 70's of over 7 million, & was the first print magazine to feature full frontal nudity, in an age where such stuff was taboo.

He was fabulously wealthy & popular at one time.

I just learned that the American Government funded - still does I think - a braille version of Playboy Magazine.
