The few times I met him he was a really nice guy and he went out of his way to help my ex at her first poker tourney.

RIP Dave

Davastating news.

I hope he knew what high regard everyone in the poker community held him. I never once heard a bad word about him.

Terrible news about a decent bloke who was far too young.

RIP Dave.

Lovely bloke.  Tragic news. I was on business in Poland and decided to be the punter at an EPT main event and he was great table company.  I remember shoving on someone and this German fellow asking if I was nervous.  Dave dryly observed "why are you asking a man who has drunk that much whisky if he is nervous?"

Played a few times after that.  So sad he has gone so young.  RIP.

Shocking News.

When I first started playing live Omaha, I jumped straight into the big cash game at the Broadway, Dave was a regular in that game and I remember being in total awe of his fearlessness and level headedness, he'd consistantly win huge pots and always seemed to get it in massively ahead.  I was out of massively out of my depth and I sat next to him and he taught me so much about PLO.

I also remember him playing in a biggish tournament at one of the Broadway festivals and making it to the final three players.  The other two players tried to broker a deal with him but he turned it down flat.

These two players then made a deal with each other that they would effectively play together agasinst Dave and share the resulting amount cash they both won.  I remember that lots of people knew about this deal and thought that it was a bit underhand, but Dave couldn't have cared less, he won the tourney in the next 6 hands as I recall.

RIP Dave, a true gentlemen.
