The Super-bowl last night had it all
A huge lead, a fantastic comeback
elements of a choke too from the side leading, and an all time great catch from Edelman to give them a shot....
It had everything.
which got me thinking, what were the greatest sporting comebacks i could think of
single event comebacks
my mind went to Taylor v Davis 1985 but Davis only led 17-15. He did miss match ball in the final frame though
I am sure i am missing loads
help me out.

Great superbowl but it was hardly in the top 10 greatest ever sporting comebacks like some people have been talking about. They didn't even touch 1.02 on betfair never mind 1.01 or 1000/1. In major events Liverpool v Milan was much bigger comeback relatively speaking in 2005 Champions league final surely? Sure there was a match at the Crucible years ago when someone went 9-0 up and lost 10-9 or something like that? My biggest ever losing 1.01 bet was on the Bulls v Nets game 4 in the NBA play offs in 2013. £200 was matched at 1000/1 on the bulls with 3 minutes to go and big 6 figures at 1.01 matched on the Nets. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/pbp/201304270CHI.html3 minutes left in the game the Nets are up 14 points at home and miss a wide open dunk to go up 16. They then miss 4 free throws in a row and 3 more lay ups in the final 3 minutes and little pocket rocket Nate Robinson just goes mental in the final 3 minutes for the Bulls and takes the game to OT somehow in the most incredible donk off i have had in 16 years in the game. Just to make matters worse the game went to triple OT so i had to sweat an effective flip for over an hour before i knew my fate.

Ashes test in 1981 i think when England were done at 500/1 reportedly (pre betfair obviously) and came back and won is another huge comeback.

I like Tony Mccoy winning on Family Business, after he had fallen with still a circuit to go and 5 runners left .

1966 FA Cup Final
Everton went 0-2 down to Sheffield Wednesday in the 57th minute. Everton's 3rd goal was scored in the 74th minute, and they hung on to win the game 3-2 with no need for extra time. Winning an FA Cup Final from a 2 goal deficit in regulation time has not been achieved since (I believe), and it only happened once before when Blackpool beat Bolton in the 1953 final - but Bolton had been reduced to 9 men due to injury for a chunk of the game. These were the days when no substitutions were permitted.
As a small child at the time, I'd been told to support "the Lancashire team". At 0-1 and 0-2 I had requested permission to change my allegiance. Permission was denied. I then learnt a lesson in loyalty and perseverance.

Europe's win against the USA at the 2012 ryder cup is the one that always stands our for me. 10-6 down going into singles Sunday and there were some huge swings to pull the result back for Europe. I seem to remember Justin rose being 1 down to Mickelson on the 16th and ended up mashing a monster putt on the 17th green to tie things up and then beating him on the last.

City at Spurs in the cup maybe 12 years ago? 3 down at half time, Barton sent off and Anelka had gone off injured. And we were shite at the time.
So obv we won 4-3 with Macken netting a last minute winner.

Chelsea vs Bradford FA Cup. Chelsea were unbeaten at home for ages; Bradford were 33-1 pre match and that wasn't generous and they went behind 2-0. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30860394

I remember hearing a student lost his entire £4400 loan during that game to try and win £44 when Angola were 4-0 up.

Reading being up 4-1 at half-time against Arsenal, scoring again and still losing by 2 was pretty special.
