easy thing to do is lay off a portion of it so that you get around 180 no matter who gets the job

its not done and dusted yet due to the fact he wasnts a 5 mil contract like erickson but the fa only want to give him 2.5 mil

Didn't the world say that about Benitez before Gullieme Balligue put them straight?

I'm Not happy with the proposed appointment, I just hope its a smokescreen created to allow big Sam and Stuart Pearce to finish the season with their respective clubs without the constant pressure of speculation.

I would rather have Scholari than Allardyce and Pearce.

The biggest problem i have with Sven is his inability to motivate and push players when things arent going well.

Pearce and allardyce have this ability and would get more out of the players. While scholari is a very vocal coach, the fact that he would have to pass instructions on via an interpreter means they would lose all impact and motivation.

Also during a game I want to see an england manager looking as if he REALLY cares about whats happening, and I want someone who is kicking and heading every ball just like the passionate fans on the terraces.

With regards to Sven, I agree with ya. However, I don't think you can tar Scholari with the same brush as Sven. Scholari makes Martin O'Neil look reserve on the touch line, so there will be no motivational problems. He has won the world cup (be it with the best team, but England has a very good team as well) he came runners up at the Euro Champs with Portugal 2 years later and he has won a few trophies in Brazil. You cannot honestly say that you would rather have Stuart Pearce (been in management for 1 year, mid table manager at the moment) than Scholari.

My only reservation is that I've heard Scholari can't speak English.

perhaps pearce is a bit "young" im management terms, but Big Sam must be a bloody good man manager and motivator, anyone that can take a bunch of football mercenaries and turn them into a cohesive unit who play with passion and determination has to be considered for the England job.

and given the current crop of players, he could instill some steel and determination into the squad, and turn England into serious contenders instead of serial disappointers Smiley

IMO Big Sam is a great manager (as mention on other threads). I feel that the FA look at him as "un-fashionable"
