Whoops!

Sorry, Wombo. Just assumed that would have ended the thread.

Ashley Giles had a load of mugs made up that should have read King of Spin but they misprinted and they ended up with King of Spain on them.

Could have been called that before the mugs, that's all I know about it.

Oh, I seeeeeeee.

Very good.

You do?

I don't - I been goddamn whooooshed again.

Warwickshire got a load of merchandise printed for his testimonial year. Some helpful folk at the printers saw 'King of Spin' thought to themselves it must be a typo, made the correction and back came the thousands of pounds worth of merchandise 'Ashley Giles - King of Spain'. It's funny mostly because people like Michael Vaughan who is good buddies with Giles and other teammates have called him the King of Spain ever since and they seem to think it's hilarious.

Thank you Kuku - I feel considerably less of a thicko now and I'd wager that septuagenarian chap was actually bluffing.

A mate of mine who played outside half was called Dai Deckchair because he folded under pressure.

I remember Arjan De Zeeuw speaking at a Supporters Club meeting not long after he signed for us in the mid-90s.  He'd been nicknamed Chez by his teammates, but none of them would explain why to him.

Given all the controversy surrounding her, I find it pretty freaky that Caster Semenya's name is a perfect anagram of Yes A Secret Man.

This weekend in the Pro 14 rugby Cheetahs are playing Zebre and I've seen it described as the 'David Attenborough derby'

"Freezer" was the nickname for an old Stoke player, Marc Goodfellow.
