Frames 4 and 6 were ok. The others all pretty terrible.

Frame 3 stat is amazing. Hendry won with a top break of 7! (And that was potting the final ball...)

I missed this match. Is there anywhere I can watch it?

It was the sheer number of pots that didn't get close to the jaws that made it such a tough watch especially the long red Hendo missed by a mile and ended up following through and going in off.   His facial impression was priceless.  It was like watching club players at times.

I might be on my own here but I love the drama of scrappy frames/matches.

With the Worlds just days away, Judd Trump thinks it's time to abandon the requirement for snooker players to wear waistcoats etc.

I could not disagree more, but I guess it's an age thing.

I've often wondered why snooker-players are expected to dress like a head-waiter in an upmarket restaurant.

Because otherwise it will turn into darts.

I'll expect to see you wearing your tuxedo next time we hit the baize.

Come on then green baize afficionados - who fancies whom to do what in the upcoming World Championship?

The Aussie Harpo Marx to win it all and Yan the man to win his quarter are my selections.

Not finished looking properly yet, will do so later tonight, but I like both those suggestions, especially Yan.

trump is the same price as he was pre draw and his draw looks very very soft compared to some areas of the draw.  Plus he doesn't do the full 17 days as he doesn't start until middle of next week which i always think is part of the 'crucible curse' the fact the champ opens up on day 1.

  Shaun Murphy (ENG) (7)
  Mark Davis

  Yan Bingtao (CHN) (10)
  Martin Gould (ENG)

  David Gilbert (ENG) (15)
  Chris Wakelin (ENG)

  Judd Trump (ENG) (2)
  Liam Highfield (ENG)

Hard to have a softer quarter than this alongside his easy opener plus the scheduling advantage.   Seems rock solid at 3/1 to me.  Could easily become a 5/4 poke before he has even been challenged with chaos elsewhere if you like a 'back to lay' ante post.   Ronnie has a similar style of draw in the top quarter.  The middle two quarters are just stacked.  Have to feel for Selby and his draw as a 4th seed.   Drawn the dangerous floater from qualifying who went deep last year and then Allen then Hig/Williams before he even gets to Ronnie.  He looks a rock soliid lay at his price for me.

selby is probably the best grinder to ever play the game but grinders don't win 3 out of 4 worlds then suddenly win another one years after.   Dott is a poor man's version of Selby.   At 11/1 he looks max lay material to me   such a shame dott didn't qualify

Martin Gould is really striking the ball well - another very under-rated player.

Has anyone else noticed his feet? They're gigantic!
