Round 3 was easy, Konta just smashed it.   Donna Vekic is much tricker next up.

The number 2 seat, Pliskova, is out, so the route to the final is easier than it was.

Konta/Vekic is second on aroind lunchtime.

Vekic slight favourite on Betfair.  3 each in head to head including the most recent, but no games om clay.   Both ranked similarly. I think Konta has the best recent form.  Vekic used to live in London and use a lot of UK facilities, so guess they'll know each other well.

We are in the 3rd quarter, but the 4th quarter has opened right up, with a good chance of Konta been favourite in the semi if she can get there.

Well, Konta is through in straight sets.  Two more games before I lose my new account?

She smashed it in the first set.  It was a bit Konta playing really well and a bit Vekic playing badly.   I think Konta's first serve percent was up at 80% and Vekic's was about 40%.   The second set was more even, and Konta had a wobble at 40/15 when 4-3 up (it looked like she hit 4 unforced errors in a row).   From there she was way on top in the last two games (she may have won both games to zero?).

She seems to be playing better as she goes through the rounds.

Turning into a nice sweat for you all.

Having been scathing of Konta's clay pedigree in recent years, I kept my powder dry on this one, but she is really going through the gears and Vekic is a tough opponent. Hope she goes all the way!

Can't see you losing the account. They will probably up your limits for backing a British female tennis player.

She's done it again.   6-1, 6-4 against Sloane Stephens and playing fantastic.  She dropped only 1 point on serve in that last set and that was a double fault in the last game.

I can't say I really expected this, but just loving it.  Through to the semis.

Wonderful news, well done David.

Thanks Tony and Bergeroo earlier.  Certainly a hell of a ride for a 150/1 shot.
