The fun part of the next week or 2 is guessing who is going to get a WC into Wimbledon and into the qualifies.

women
dead certs (if fit)
Dart
Jones
Burrage

do they give one to Watson and/or Miyazaki?

rest all non GB?

Men
Harris is a cert (if he doesnt get in without it)
Evans, Clarke and Choinski are highly likely
Possibly Monday being younger than all the above

i am guessing its going to count on overseas players who are outside the top 100 and can draw the crowds

I think Watson is bound to get one after qualifying for Queens and winning a match in the main draw.  Think I'd prefer Banks or Xu over Myazaki.  Just wait to see how this week and next week goes at least? There might be quite a few for Brits as Osaka doesn't need one and Wozniaki is pregnant.  Don't know if Andreescu has done enough historically to warrant one.

If I was deciding, I'd put Choinski as a definite no. He is off playing on clay when there is a choice of grass tournaments.  Not sure if he is serious.  Evans and Clarke are definites.  Harris could get in direct, but is definite?  Think Monday gets one too.  Had been steadily rising in the rankings with solid results.  Crawford can get one if solid this week (import like Choinski, but at least trying on grass).

Maybe they should be looking at Henry Searle? Don't know how high Kyle Edmund would need to be to get one?

Klugman and Xu both get wildcards for Nottingham Open.  Together with Dart and Jones.

Watson and Burrage wildcards to qualifying.

Direction of travel indicated at LTA?  Glad to see it.

Wonder if Miyazaki is injured?

Well, Choinski and Fery got through qualifying in Nottingham.  Pinnington Jones got to the final in Ilkley, and Peniston has already won a match in Nottingham. So more late competition than I was expecting.

Think getting to a final in Ilkley is enough to get a wildcard for Wimbledon, especially given he was given one above others at Nottingham.

So think Harris, Evans, Pinnington Jones and Clarke must be in for Wimbledon main draw.  The other 2 (or so) could be any from 5 or 6 now.

Nobody really stepped up on the women's side.

Main draw wild cards.

Have picked up all 3 juniors with biggest potential in the women's and Searle in the men's.  Feels the right decision.  Watson gets in again.

Jay Clarke, Oliver Crawford, Dan Evans, George Loffhagen, Johannus Monday, Jack Pinnington Jones, Henry Searle

Jodie Burrage, Harriet Dart, Fran Jones, Hannah Klugman, Petra Kvitova, Mika Stojsavljevic, Heather Watson and Mimi Xu

Others

I don't know if Raducanu Boulter can get in automatically.  If they intend to play, which was indicated, then I think they would need a wild card, as their doubles ratings aren't going to be good enough?

Are you surprised Raducanu and Boulter aren't there in the doubles?

I am sure they said that they would be back for Wimbledon, and there are other pairs that haven't played much together that have got wildcards.

i am sure there rankings in singles will get them in without need for wildcard

Looks like Boulter and Raducanu didn't enter doubles as not in the lists.  Seems quite a few Brits didn't get into the women's doubles.  No place for Tara Moore amongst others, who is either a terrible drug cheat, or very hard done by after climbing back up the rankings.  Think whatever the truth, and seems she has suffered way more than Sinner and Swiatek, and think they could have found a place for her in the circumstances.  Think she'll get a high enough ranking next year to at least get a wild card.

In better news Katie Swan made it through the singles wildcard tournament so is in qualifying.  Katy Dunne made it through also for those with longer memories.  FWIW, Swan's record this year is pretty good, though last year was an obvious disaster.

Will be tough to get through qualifying but good luck to them.

The Wimbledon draws are out.

https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/draws/gentlemens-singles

Raducanu plays Xu round 1.  Winner plays Vondrousova or Kessler (not Allan) then winner Sabalenka.  So out by round 3.

Boulter plays Badosa round 1; Badosa not as flakey as she was.  Draw ok if she gets through right up to Keys in possible quarter.

Klugman has Fernandez round 1.  She is one of the more bearable seeds?  Gets Keys before Boulter in round 3 (unlikely she gets there)

Dart winnable round 1, Haddad Mia round 2.

Kartal has Ostapenko round 1, which should be entertaining on one of the main courts?

Burrage has Swiatek round 2 if she gets there.

Fran Jones tough round 2 if she gets there.

Watson has Tauson, depends which Watson shows up.

Stojsavljevic out in 1?

On men

Fearnley plays current hype pot Fonseca

Draper easier draw.  Cilic is round 2, and Bublic 3.  Bublic obviously more difficult than Cilic (even if he did well at Nottingham)

Monday has Paul round 1, which is a shame

Pinnington Jones has a relatively easy draw.

Evans has Clarke then Djokovic.  So one Brit gets through just 1 round there.

Harris has Hurkakz round 1, but he has dropped down the rankings.  Doesn't seem too bad after.

Searle might win a game or two, but then faces Zverev (BOO!)

Assume Fery doesn't last long despite an easier draw.

Similarly don't think Crawford lasts long either.

Norrie has Bautista Agut then Tiafoe.  Tough.

Tarvet gets beat by Alcaraz in round 2 if he continues the dream run.

Sorry if I have missed any.

So week 2 is Draper only?
