I started playing this mate during lockdown, used to love Civ2.

Can't say my hours match yours but its such a great game and levels are so deep.

I just do random leader etc so i'm not always doing the same thing. Religious route seems so fucking tedious though, culture/science/domination way more fun.

yeah religion is a ballsache the micro management is a bore i did it once just to get the achievement i am now close to 7000 hours according to steam

I loved civ v but after playing 11k hours of civ vi I tried to play some civ v but it wasn't as good as I remembered,  only thing u can recommend  though is makes sure you have the expansion  packs as the vanilla game feels like it's not a finished game

Nice to see Civilization 6 fans here Smiley I also play.
I can tell you that the religious path is the fastest way to win the game. On the God difficulty I won on religion. All the other ways to win are not so easy to get on high difficulty.

So much time? I didn't count my time as I reinstalled the operating systems and the game too. But I think I have less time Smiley

hey there LTNS, i have never played Multi player i havent actually played a single game since Feb after logging up 15k hours of play since launch. I would love to set up a multiplayer game. Been invited to a few through civ vi facebook group[s but never taken anyone up on offer due to fact i would get hammered as its a totally different way to play.

Went to APAT last weekend. Logged in to blonde to check when my first blonde bash was. Next thing I see Ironside posting about my little side addiction also. Some kind of fate.

On why was I absent? Let's call Blonde a previous addiction. One of those rabbit holes a little rabbit like me cannot resist.

Yeah and they use better balance game. Totally different rules.

We could do play by cloud/email. That way it's just a normal game and not synchronous turns. But it would take a long time to complete.

Yesterday marked 20 years since I joined this forum in the hope of just getting my hero in poker Elblondie to reply to a message, (sorry Tikay it wasn't you). Little did i know where the journey would take me (and that i had already met and played with Tikay).
In the early years i met some great people, made some good friendships and bonds. Also had the misfortune of seeing some pass away and drift away. Had some great highs and the fun of the blondeBashes, and the lows of the scams (being a tight Scotsman i never lost anything).
I don't know what the next year or 2 will bring and i know that this forum wont be around in another 20 years in this format.
I doubt i will ever get to play a live poker game again and online playing against bots doesn't hold the same appeal as it did but I do hold those few years i was an enthusiastic (try spelling that without spellchecker)  amateur poker player as some of the greatest I have had.
I've upset people, and helped people and done both to some Some people have annoyed me and others i wish i could of spent more time with.
Anyway in the 8 years i have gone through 3 surgeries all of which have gone wrong and left me in life threatening position. The last one was in Feb last year and was corrected 2 weeks later leaving me in hospital on a drip for 3 weeks then at home going into hospital 3 times a week for IV antibiotics.
Its now needing another corrective surgery, I am on the priority waiting list (under the NHS currently that's about 4 years :-) )

I just want to say thank you form being part of my journey, may there be many more years left in it maybe somehow new adventures ahead.

(back to trolling through the old posts)
